I find Hebrews answer to be a good answer for me...

Hebrews 1:14 "Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?"

I am not sure we have an answer on this....other than they serve at the bidding of a Sovereign God and accomplish whatever He commands them.

How do Southern Baptists view Angels? No debate, just a simple question for Southern Baptists.

I could type out an answer but, to be honest, I am just too tired right now to go through and type out a post/reply on this. So, even though I do hate to do this, I am going to do it anyway. I am going to direct your attention to a very good book on this subject. It is by Ron Rhodes and it is called "Angels Among Us: Seperating Truth From Fiction". It is an easy read. Personally I read most of this book several years ago while sitting in a dentist office waiting for my brother to get out of surgery (wisdom teeth). Though it is written on a popular level, and though it is a quick read, it is a good review of angelology that most Baptists would accept.

I have read several of Dr Rhodes books and I once had the privilege of attending a conference where he spoke on the danger of cults. His presentation was very informative, as are his books. He knows these subjects very well.

Well, I have my beliefs about angels. I don't really believe what I do because I am a Baptist. I simply believe whatever the Bible says about angels.

Here are some things the bible says about them.

• They are created beings that do not reproduce.
• They cannot be saved.
• Some are fallen.
• The ones that remained with God are ministering spirits.
• They brings messages to people.
• They protect people.
• They have a role in the end times.
• They have a specific role now in heaven and later, when we are in heaven with them.
• They generally do God's bidding.
• They are not to be worshipped.

Here's a great site to read about everything that the Bible says about angels. I had done a study on angels once and I can't find it. But this site is really good.
