Anna Maria Island, Florida

I'm beginning to plan my vacation and I'm considering Anna Maria Island. Never been to the Tampa area, but spent a week 20 years ago at Sanibel. Is anyone familiar with Anna Maria Island and would it be a nice getaway for a week in June?
Will be traveling with wife and 12 y.o. son and possibly 19 y.o. nephew.

If you are in that area on a Sunday, you may want to visit FBC of Osprey, which is not too far away. The pastor there is Tom Bryant, a BB member.
