A majority of Republican voters said if former President Trump were to start a new political party they would likely join, a new Hill-HarrisX poll finds.
Sixty-four percent of registered Republican voters in the Jan. 28-29 survey said they'd join a new political party led by the former president, including 32 percent who said they would very likely join.
By contrast, 36 percent of Republican respondents said they are either very or somewhat unlikely to join.
The survey found 28 percent of independents and 15 percent of Democrats said they'd likely join a third party led by Trump.
Thirty-seven percent of voters overall said if Trump started a new political party they'd likely join.
Last month, Trump reportedly floated the idea of starting a new political party, however, no concrete plan concerning a Trump-led third party has emerged.

This is the same old song and dance. The GOP had been split for decades and needs to come to some resolution, because what we have now is far-left globalism by the democratic party that's pitted up against a hopelessly fractured republican party.

There's the GOPe- the Bushes. the Cheneys, my bff Ben Sasse, John Kasich, et al against the Trump/Paul/Tea Party/Cruz wing. I think the GOPe need to go the way of the Whigs. They can't stand it when the base rejects their guys - Bush over Trump, Bush over Reagan and this side controls the GOP at the congressional level. They think they're the REAL GOP and the MSM just loves them, until they are up against their lefty du jour - McCain, Romney, Bushes, et al. Then they are treated like the Nazi scum the MSM thinks they are but the saddest part is that the RINO still doesn't learn a thing.

So it's time to toss 'em. The Whigs never took a definitive stance on slavery and that was their downfall. Hmmm. I do believe in but hate the thought of Duverger's Law....
