    And a relative… the Volpe family are related to my family and they hail from New Jersey. BTW, I’m not a Yankee fan either. My wife follows them however… I’ve always followed the Mets, equally pathetic.

    I checked him out seeing he was from NJ and went to Catholic School but I never thought you were a relative?... Tell Pam not to bust her buttons... My Dad when I was born being the first and a son too, in a picture was sporting a cigar... To celebrate by her a box of chocolates, you could give a cigar too, a chocolate one that is...     Took over 5 generations of families hailing from Napoli… dirt poor goat herders in the mountains. Still, every son played the game of baseball till Mr. Golden Glove finally did us proud. Volpe is a graduate of the Delbarton Catholic School in Mendam NJ… posh. :Cool

    Forget the Italian angle. I’d say it’s a story you don’t often hear much today… an American story of achievement via hard work and the will to be something more. Rare these days! I told you, my wife sent my son a Volpe rookie baseball card for my grandson…. She is keeping the dream alive.
