I have a question to ask of any bikers on the board.
Lately, I have been riding my bike to work. On rainy days, I use my mountain bike and leave my roadie at home. In the past two months, I have had three flats on my fat-tire ride as a result of road debris.

On my roadie, I am running Continental Ultra Gator Skins. I have had great luck with these and have not experienced any flats. Does anyone know of a comparable tire for mountain bikes (that aren't essentially road slicks)? I have been looking at WTB tires (trying to stay around 2" to 2.1" tires), but would welcome any insight you would have about any other tire.

    Thanks,
    BiR

I've been a VELOCIRAPTOR user for many years. Before that, I used the Team Master & Team Competitor series tires. I rode my Cannondale Mt. Bike in single-track comps, but have also put about 8,000 road miles, and have never experienced a flat with either tire model. I really never bothered to change the tires out, as riding in roads in Montana means chug holes, 180 degree pavement, debris.....
