Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. (KJV)

I do not believe that Jesus is being "held" in heaven at all. He is seated at the Father's right hand making intercession for the saints and is simply awaiting His Father's word to go claim His bride. I do not think Jesus is being restrained in any way; after all, He came to do the will of His Father. This hasn't changed now that He's in heaven with His Father.

Did not mean being held against His will, just that there DID seem to be indicated events that would have to cccur before he would be returning to earth!

I've heard this phrase my whole life and have come to the conclusion that Jesus will not tarry His coming in any way. When His Father gives Him the word, He will come for His bride immediately.

Hebrews 10:37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. (KJV)
You're right. Now He tarries. When the last of the elect has come to repentance, He will no longer tarry (or suffer long, if you prefer that wording) and will come.
