Any Hear read the Cross of Christ by John Stott?

Stott has a mixed reputation here in Britain because in the '60s, he opposed Dr Lloyd-Jones' call for evangelicals to come out of liberal or mixed denominations, and he led the Anglican evangelicals deeper into the Church of England which has been disastrous for them and for evangelicalism generally.

But none of that reflects on his book which is well worth a second read.

My biggest concern with him was that he seemed to go JW and Sda on final state after death!

Packer and Stott wrote well concerning the doctrines of God, Wright has not!

My point is that Bible believing evangelicals in general heap high praise on the high academics of the COE as if they are in an exclusive class by themselves, spiritual giants, gifted writers.
