Anyone else here ever watched the crowd-funded-by-Christians series "The Chosen"?

The wife and I were initially apprehensive as we figured any modern show would turn Christ into some Woke monstrosity, but were pleasantly surprised to find the show very solid.

I don't mind admitting it was spiritually touching enough to make me tear up multiple times, and I'm in good company with Phil Robertson from Duck Dynasty admitting the same thing.

What are your thoughts from those who've watched it?

I'd definitely recommend it :). They portray Christ's humanity really well. They have him joking with and teaching kids in some scenes and laughing rather than the classic stoic, non-human version.

Here's a link to a scene from the first season where Christ redeems Mary Magdelene:

It gets a thumbs up from me and my husband too. I appreciate how the gospel narrative is interwoven intelligently with threads from OT and epistles. A few question marks here and there but on the whole it is a real blessing especially for people who already know the story. I hope it would inspire non-Christians to open up a Bible for the first time.

Considering gifting DVD sets to people but want to wait to see how the next seasons turn out first.

Only thing I'm really not keen on is Mr Dallas himself. I find his style quite irritating but can't deny what an amazing job he has done in fundraising and producing the show.
