Even more scandalous for Big Oil, Chavez is using Venezuela's windfall not to fatten his own country's oligarchy but to benefit the Venezuelan poor and help neighboring countries.

Yesterday, while Robertson was issuing his half-baked Chavez clarification, the Venezuelan president was in Montego Bay, Jamaica, where he announced a new oil agreement with that country's prime minister, P.J. Patterson.

Under the agreement, Venezuela will supply 22,000 barrels of oil a day to Jamaica for a mere $40 a barrel. That's far lower than the current world price of about $65 a barrel. With the price of gasoline in that destitute nation already more than $3.50 a gallon, the Chavez plan means more than half a million dollars a day in savings for Jamaica on oil imports.

Chavez also announced his government will provide $60 million in foreign aid to Jamaica and finance the upgrading of that country's oil refineries.

    No worry Jamaica

    Hugo Christlike?

What is really surprising a day after one of
our Christian leaders(whether you like it or not)
was being very unChristian and then Hugo Chavez
expresses charity, perhaps through his own
convictions or a Sovereign God showing mercy to
the poor people of the Caribbean.

God does move in mysterious ways

This is really off the deep end--comparing Chávez to Christ. Does Christ support the violent overthrow of the Colombian government?

I wonder if the Venezuelan people approve of this foreign aid? Does the Venezuelan parliament(or whatever they might have) have to approve this or can Chavez do this on his own?

Regardless, if Venezuela wants to give foreign aid to Jamaica that's up to the Venezuelan people.

Cmg pretty open ended...but my salient point is
that a sovereign God is still at work in this
world to help the needy. imho

Can God use a Nebacanezzar...can God use a Hugo
Chavez for one act of mercy..all I am saying it
    is a possibility.

and yes there is a third possibility..political
capitol on his part...only God knows Hugo Chavez
hearts and his help for the poor and downtrodden.

Next you will be telling me all the good things that Hitler did for the German people and how Stalin gave flowers to little children and how Castro is a nice guy. You are so far out in left field that my 5-year-old computer cannot pick you up on radar. You are talking left-wing trash.

Hitler/Stalin? that is a big stretch even for Hugo
Chavez. cmg why are you bringing that trash into it?

    I have clearly showed an
open ended question and the mystery of one day
a Christian acts unChristian and the
next day a so called dictator(your words) acts
in charity and only pointed out the possibilities
and how God does work in mysterious ways and not
always the way we would plan it per ideology.

I agree Chavez has chosen the poor over the rich
in Venezuela and that is causing a gnashing of teeth to moneyed interest abroad.

And like I said it may be sincere conviction on
his part of it may be political expediency on his
part..and you and I agree on this only God knows
    Hugo Chavezs heart.

btw if your having trouble picking me up ..you
may need to re calibrate your reflectix helmet
you are using reflectix aren't you?
