I was once a cynic of high degree. Just prior to the LORD finding me in the military, I had a friend from Brooklyn, of Jewish descent. We were anti-everything when it came to religion and mocked anything religious which came our way.

e.g. At the chow hall if someone stopped and bowed the head in grace one of us would say something like "Don't bother praying the food isn't going to get any better" and other things/pranks some of which are too blasphemous to mention.

I'm heaven bound but I do have my doubts, not that I'm not heaven bound but that the Lord Jesus Christ would die for a worthless worm as I... Then to top it all off there is this fella that keeps whispering in my ear, if you were really his child you wouldn't have thought this and did this?... But I'm still Heaven bound!... Someday I'm going to get rid of him as will we all!... Brother Glen:)

Really? This survey has eternal ramifications? I'm a little cynical about that. :)

if you can't answer this question with surety

"I am, without a doubt, born-again and heaven-bound" seems to me to be a presumptuous or unbecoming attitude for a Christian to project. I much prefer something along the lines of "I know him whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to guard that which I have committed unto him against that day".

I do have my doubts, not that I'm not heaven bound but that the Lord Jesus Christ would die for a worthless worm as I

That to me is an appropiate humble attitude to project, and, ditto.

"The gospel is less about how to get into the Kingdom of Heaven after you die, and more about how to live in the Kingdom of Heaven before you die." -- Dallas Willard.
