the modern day Charasmatic movemnent looks back to Azusa as the time when god intervened to restore back to the church its glory and power, bring back 5 fold ministries etc..

Mormons claim same thing, god sent them in to restorechurch back to real christianity...

BOTh calim movement from God, BOTH have apostles and prophets, both claim ongoing revealtions...

is it just me, or both seem to originate from same source, and it aint God!

Fools rush in where angels fear to tread, so here I am. Mormons are clearly a cult and always have been classified as such by the Christian church. Joe Smith could be considered a petty criminal.

However, (this is going to get me excommunicated) if you accept that the perpetuity of spiritual gifts is real, then Azusa Street in Los Angeles is just a Pentecostal revival. You pays your money and you takes your choice.

BOTH groups claim the Lord sent them to restore chrsitianity, BOTH have same Apsotles/prophets, and worst of all heresies in their midst..

IF both claim to be from god, yet share essential same beliefs than?

...However, (this is going to get me excommunicated) ...

Only the Calvinsts have determine they will excommunicate you.

But to answer the OP-
At least the Pentecostals believe in Salvation by Grace thru the Lord Jesus Christ.
Cant say the same about the JW or Mormons

I am no expert on Pentecostalism so you will have to explain to me about how both have the same apostles and prophets. The Assembly of God, for example, has a typical Evangelical statement of doctrinal beliefs except for tongues. Mormonism is a non-Christian cult.

Look, I am not Pentecostal, but the Assembly of God celebrates their roots in Azusa Street:

"One of the focal points of the emerging Pentecostal movement was known as the Azusa Street revival (1906-09). It was an unlikely location for an event that would change the face of Christianity. In the summer of 1906, revival erupted in the newly-formed congregation meeting at the small, run-down Apostolic Faith Mission at 312 Azusa Street in Los Angeles, California. Critics attacked the congregation because its mild-mannered African-American Holiness preacher, William J. Seymour, preached racial reconciliation and the restoration of biblical spiritual gifts. The revival soon became a local sensation, then attracted thousands of curiosity seekers and pilgrims from around the world.

"Seymour had been a student of Charles Parham, who provided the doctrinal framework for the young Pentecostal movement. Parham’s identification in scripture of speaking in tongues as the “Bible evidence” (later called the “initial evidence”) of Spirit baptism became a defining mark of the emerging Pentecostal movement. After students at his Bethel Bible School in Topeka, Kansas, began speaking in tongues at a prayer meeting on January 1, 1901, Parham, through his Apostolic Faith Movement, had some success in promoting the restoration of the gift of tongues. While the Apostolic Faith Movement was largely confined to the south central United States, the revival at Azusa Street catapulted Pentecostalism before a worldwide audience."

If the belief that God is restoring the church is your criteria for comparing the Mormons and the Charasmatics, then you have to lump they in with the Reformation movement.

The definition of a Charasmatic needs to be defined. In the same way that all Baptists are not the same (including those Baptists that demonstrate at military funerals), there are many types of groups that are called Charasmatics. For instance, the Assemblies of God does not approve of much of what is presented on TV by those some people call Charasmatics.

I have already excluded 'old time" pentacostals such as AoG...

My contention is that MUCH of the Charasmatic Movemnent is wrapped up in word of faith/prosperity/teachings, and those groups are very akin to mormon teachings as regarding being the restoration of christian, prophets/Apostles today, extra biblical traditions/revelations etc!

For one thing, Mormons are not Trinitarians. There is more.

Not many, but some. However, the Oneness bunch believes that Jesus and God are the same. Mormons do not.

jesus only/oneness hold to Modualism, a heresy
many of word of faith hold to Jesus being N INCARNATION OF GOD, BUT SO ARE WE AS "LITTLE GODS"

So why wouldn' tthey be Mormon like?
