Hi, I came across the Murrays on th t.v. one morning while channel surfing. At first their Bible study seemed pretty good, but I noticed on their Q&A segment they seem to have some strange ideas. The church they have is called the Sheperd Chapel, do you think their Bible study course is basiclly solid.:type:

My goodness, don't watch this show!

Murray is a heretic and a nut as well as a cult leader. He denies the Trinity and believes we existed before birth, as well as other terrible things.

Mr. Murray denies the doctrine of the Trinity, denies the existence of hell and the rapture, and states that Eve had sexual relations with the devil.

When watching his television show it becomes quickly evident that he is a bit condescending to those whom he claims are misled, something that seems to have rubbed off on his followers. He justifies this approach by stating that he was in the Marines and learned how to "teach his troops" with discipline. It seems his approach is lacking the humility and grace of the Holy Spirit which is demonstrated in this brief audio clip where Murray threatens someone with a 9mm handgun. In addition, it seems that he has made a false prophecy as is documented by the Ontario Consultants on Religious Tolerance, a secular religious analysis organization.

Mr. Arnold Murray also frequently refers to the Christian identity movement which teaches that the British and, therefore, the Americans and Canadians, are the true descendants of the ancient Israelites the 10 lost tribes. Jews in Israel are really descended from Cain who was the result of sexual intercourse between Eve and Satan. Murray also teaches that all people had a pre-existence in spirit-bodies before they were born here on earth.

The Christian Identity movement is white supremacist, btw.

Run, run, RUN from Shepherd's Chapel!!

Murray teaches that Eve and the devil had sex and that Cain is the result. He teaches that these people are Kenites and are a part of the Jews who screamed "crucify him!" at Jesus.

He denies a global Flood which is the only way that the Kenites could have survived to be able to live in Jesus' time.

He denies the true concept of the Trinity and doesn't believe in bodily resurrections, not of Jesus and not of mankind.

 Does anyone else known of these people?

Back around the early 90's I used to watch Arnold show and of course knew that his theology was off the proverbial beam. But I would get a kick out of him talking tough about hitting his listeners with a two-by-four if we didn't agree with him.

Another Christian friend and I were shocked at his outlandish teachings -- we'd say :"There's another unorthodox doctrine coming out of his mouth. What's next?"

I certainly wouldn't want a new believer exposed to him.

Who's Dennis --his son?

They are very arrogant and when asked recommend that listener abandon their local church and listen exclusively to them. And, of course they expect the tithe to come to them too. Can anyone say "cult?"
