Around Rose Bushes...

My wife recently planted 3 rose bushes in our landscaping and around them she put miracle grow top soil. Ever since then grass has come up in this soil and been a real pain. Is this normal? Is there anything we can do about it?

My garden did the same thing. We miracle grew it 3 times. But it wasnt for looks, so we left it.
