At Last, Some Truth About Iraq and Afghanistan

PARIS – After a sea of lies and a tsunami of propaganda, the ugly truth behind the Iraq and Afghanistan wars finally emerged into full view this week.

Four major western oil companies, Exxon, Mobil, Shell, BP and Total, are about to sign US-brokered no-bid contracts with the US-installed Baghdad regime to begin exploiting Iraq’s oil fields. Saddam Hussein had kicked these firms out three decades ago when he nationalized Iraq’s foreign-owned oil industry for the benefit of Iraq’s national development. The Baghdad regime is turning back the clock.

This agreement comes as talks are continuing between the Washington and its Baghdad client regime over future US basing rights in Iraq. After some face-saving Iraqi objections, it is expected that Baghdad will sign a compact with Washington giving US forces control of Iraq and its air space in a manner very similar to Great Britain’s colonial arrangement with Iraq.

Interestingly, the same oil companies that used to exploit Iraq when it was a British colony are now returning. As former US Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan recently admitted, the Iraq war was all about oil. VP Dick Cheney stated in 2003 that the invasion of Iraq was about oil, and for the sake of Israel.

Meanwhile, according to Pakistani and Indian sources, Afghanistan just signed a major deal to launch a long-planned, 1680 km long pipeline project expected to cost $ 8 billion. If completed, the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India pipeline (TAPI) will export gas and, later, oil from the Caspian Basin to Pakistan’s coast where tankers will transport it to the west.

Very interesting. Seems another Bush administration falsehood is finally coming to "official" light.

I just Googled "tapi pipline" and this page came up. Switched over to Google News search and this page came up.

See also...Operation Enduring Pipeline

An independent Balochistan would balkanize Pakistan, create a US-friendly state between Iran and India, and hurt Iran badly by stymieing the IPI pipeline. It would also provide a side benefit by isolating the large new port that the Chinese are financing in Gwadar, on Balochistan's coast. In March 2002, Chinese vice premier Wu Bangguo laid the foundation for Gwadar port, which is intended be a key Chinese facility on the Arabian Sea, not far from the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. The US might consider this a threat to The Carter Doctrine, which dictates that the US shall be the big dog in the Middle East.

Operation Enduring Freedom? With John McCain and Barack Obama now arguing about widening the Afghanistan war and invading Pakistan, the TAPI natural gas pipeline has a better chance than freedom ever had. It would be an American-controlled cash cow that would hurt Iran. All the US needs to do is pacify Afghanistan with more troops (to safeguard TAPI) and balkanize Pakistan (to stymie IPI) while widening the war and antagonizing India. Freedom be damned. Freedom was never an option anyhow, especially when there's money to be made by endless war.

Nothing wrong with Iraq anteing up some oil for all of the billions of dollars we've spent and lives that have been lost freeing them from an evil dictator that destroyed thousands of lives. Pump it fast and bring it over. Maybe it will help eleviate the high prices we are currently paying!

The "evil dictator" you speak of was one of our creations not so long ago, so was Al Qeada and the Taliban for that matter. Maybe we could save lives and money by stop trying to save everybody from the problems we create by constant military interventions in the first place.

Ah, yes! It is the evil America who is the dreaded Dr. Frankenstein!
Step back boys and girls and watch my creations become alive and hunger for the flesh of his fellow man!

"A flash of lightning illuminated the object, and discovered its shape plainly to me; its gigantic stature, and the deformity of its aspect, more hideous than belongs to humanity, instantly informed me that it was the wretch, the filthy demon, to whom I had given life."

Once again Cutter America isn't evil...the warfare/welfare state is, when will you wartime collectivists get that through your head?

Oh nevermind...just go on repeating the establishment's propaganda and be good little citizens...and obey.

Bang on, Poncho. As you stated, "the TAPI natural gas pipeline has a better chance than freedom ever had. It would be an American-controlled cash cow that would hurt Iran. The problem is we're all greedy - US, Iran, Britain, Canucks, China. etc., etc., etc., I've got 'guys' (Canucks) fighting over there right now supposedly to free Afghanis and institute 'democracy'; now they have to consider double duty protecting a proposed new pipeline meeting oil demands of an insatiable country - China? RIDICULOUS!! Young guys & women (doesn't matter what country!!) will be dying for a proposed pipeline!!! Talk about an easy Taliban/Al Qaeda target! Please Cutter (& others), don't say it won't happen - you know better than that! Somethings's wrong with this picture folks!

Let he who doesn't own oil futures cast the first stone.
(The same goes for folks on the dole /state, federal, or local/ )

Check the stones for oil content before you throw. Oil is found in sand and shale--not necessarily in big pockets.

The oil companies are not too inclined to give up their windfall profits to search very hard. This is one big conflict of interest. How much will the greedy people get before we say: ENOUGH ALREADY?

Let's go back to burning the manure of camels and other domesticated creatures on the planet. Does anyone have an Imu for sale? We could ride them until they are worn out, then eat them. What a wonderful way to recycle--not sure Green Peace would approve.

Selah,

Bro. James
