Autonomus Thought

Some folks think all our thoughts are just the required response to external stimulus. There is no genus, where two people look at the same thing but see it differently. Since our memory bank is different from others, we respond to external stimulus in differing ways. Edison looked at a commutator and saw it as necessary, but Tesla looked at it and saw it was unnecessary.

Thus when I heard and heeded the gospel, I evaluated the opportunity differently than how others with a differing background. I was raised in a Christian home, my parents believed in God and intuitively so did I.

Some try to claim if a person responds affirmatively to the gospel, they could only do so because supernaturally they had been enabled by irresistible grace to believe. However, that view is an invention of people, apparently unwilling to study and live such that they became more effective witnesses of Christ.

You lost most people with the references to DC and AC motors. However, I am an electronics technician, so I understood the allusion.

But the natural man does not receive the things of God, because they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

There must be a work of irresistible grace. One must be given ears to hear the things that the Spirit speaketh.
