I know I ask alot of questions, I am just growing and curious about alot of things.

I visited another site recently that said they were christian, they told me that babies don't go to heaven because they never accepted Christ. I don't believe it, I just can't. My son is only 18 months old and I don't want to worry about his soul if (God forbid) something happens to him. I can't find scripture that supports my side. Does anyone have any scripture about this? I miscarried back in September and I know my baby is with Jesus, even though I was only 8 weeks along.

The Bible is a little vague on the subject, but it does say that Salvation has to do with hearing the Gospel and accountability. It's often been discussed that those who are not capable of making the decision are not condemned. That would include children, mentally disabled, etc.

I agree. I think the faction that thinks that anyone who does not accept Christ including those who are not accountable to make an informed decision for Christ will go to hell, is the same faction that baptises or christens babies. And that is not scriptural.

The passage that most would reference when dealing with this subject is:
2 Sam 12:21 Then said his servants unto him, What thing is this that thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child, while it was alive; but when the child was dead, thou didst rise and eat bread.
22 And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?
23 But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him , but he shall not return to me.

It is fairly certain that David was referring to the fact that he would see his child in heaven some day. We have no reason to believe otherwise.

Although a baby is not saved in that he has never repented and trusted the Lord; he is nonetheless safe because he is not yet accountable for his sins.

As Israel went into the promised land and were told to destroy whole cities did those children go to paradise?
    David was a believer
I have always believed that if a parent of a child that died before the age of accountability had or ever would accept Christ the child would be sent to heaven.

    Absolutely.

God has never made a person's eternal destiny balance on another person's standing before God.

Eze 18:19 Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.
20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die . The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. (KJV)

I agree; I have several 'special angels' (grandchildren) that I am looking forward to meeting when I get to Heaven! [IMG]

</font>[/QUOTE]How would they go to paradise if they were not God's people, even with God's people all of them did not go, remember the parable of the rich and the poor man?
I believe the verses you quoted were pretaining to believers and to those past the age of accountability. [IMG]

The Bible is not clear cut on this matter for us in this age, but I do believe that all those that die in the womb, in young childhood, or who never have the mental capacity to repent and believe, are regenerated by the Holy Spirit before they die so that they are saved and will be in heaven - based on God's amazing grace. Salvation is by the grace of God. All who are God's elect will be saved, age or mental capacity has nothing to do with it. God will save His people.

Nowhere in scripture does it say all infants will be saved, but there are odd instances where it says individual ones are. We are all born sinners in need of God's grace. The great thing is that God can execise his Grace to whoever He will, even before birth if He chooses.

Thank God that salvation depends on Him, not us.

    Regards
    Bob

All babies who die inside or outside of the womb and the mentally retarded will go to Heaven.

Yes, they were born sinners; but they did not sin.

It says in the Bible that God cannot look on sin . It does not say that God cannot look on sinners .

God protects the innocent ones who do not understand what sin is and, therefore, have not willfully sinned.

When Jesus came; we no longer had to pay for the sins of our fathers.

Amen, I Am Blessed! You can't go to Heaven once you realize you are a sinner. A baby knows from the very beginning HOW to sin. Ever heard one scream and holloar like it's dying, and then pick it up and it's quiet? ;) My point being, they have no idea they are doing wrong at that age. Someone that dosn't understand they sin, why would God send them to hell? A young baby or even young child {toddler aged} is not going to be able to comprehend that.
I get infuriated at some "so called" preachers who say God chooses which babies go to Heaven. Heard a radio talk thing a few years ago, and a man who'd just had his baby girl die called in to ask if their child was in Heaven. I could have rang that "preacher's" neck for telling the man that "Maybe, or maybe not, only God knows."
That's simply not true. I believe that once you become of the age when you understand you are a sinner, then if you die you would go to hell. I understood at five, but didn't get saved untill I was eleven. I wasted a whole lot of time I could have been a wittness. It may have been diffrent for you. You may have realized sooner than that or later that you were a sinner. But untill a child realizes that, they will go to HEaven when they die.

What do you believe is the meaning of these verses: " And the women which hath a husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased with her, let her not leave him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now they are holy.

Olive, since God's Word does not contradict itself, how would YOU reconcile those two seemingly opposing passages?

Olivebranch, "sanctified" means "set apart". Those who have a believing spouse are "set apart" by God. They are not justified because of their spouse. God has chosen to use their believing spouse in a way that a lost spouse would not be able to be used. The same is true for the children.

Quick note off topic: Not so coincidentally, this is why it is sin to divorce a lost person.

However if the unbeliever leaves, we are to allow him to leave. And if he divorces you, you are divorced indeed!

And if he remarries, it is a sin to get back together with him later!

A person released from the marriage vows this way is free to go where God leads -- including remarriage.

    Now, back to topic.

I gave a theological for my understanding of "sanctified" spouses and children. It is a sin to instigate. The same is true for children. No christian parent should throw their child out.

Thanks, Preach, I've always wondered about the meaning of those verses. I've heard them used to defend a kind of "protection" over the unsaved spouse and the children. I agree with your statement on divorce, also.
