Btw, this GodTube.com has some great videos. There are several videos of John MacArthur preaching on the second coming and others. So you can do a search for your favorite teacher/preacher and see if there are some videos of them on there. Neat stuff.

I LOVE that video. If I had a way to show it to my congregation on a big screen or something I would download it and do it.

I actually think this is one of the truly funniest videos done by Christians that I have seen in years. We used in our college ministry at the last church where I served...everybody loved it.

We've also used it at the beginning of leadership meetings and stuff to loosen the mood. It's really hillarious. :)

Thanks Rufus. I thought I was the only one who felt that way.

I agree with you Amy G. I watched about 30 seconds and got a weird feeling in my gut. Holy Spirit I guess. But be prepared to take some heat from the more permissive faction of the church. You will be accused of being fanatical and judgemental and "old fashioned". The separation between the world and the church is getting very thin.

You know the world is upside down when the church is trying to emulate the world and using some of the world's most heinous music to do it. I remember the words of the original song, "Baby got back", from when I was in darkness and replacing "me so horny" with "me so holy" is the work of the wicked or Christians in serious need of the rod of God.

"When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things." - 1 Corinthians 13:11

==That's what bothers me about it. The video is horrible, 100% horrible. Maybe that is why I laughed the whole time I watched it. It is truly horrible. Do I find it offensive? No, but only because it was made by a church youth group. Besides it takes a lot more than a music video, no matter how bad, to offend me. If I don't like something I just turn it off.

==I just love how everyone who disagrees with you is a liberal or is permissive. How many times have you called me a liberal or something along those lines? I'm not sure but it has been more than once. What is funny, truly funny, about all your false accusations against me (and I'm sure others as well) is that nobody who knows me could ever think I am liberal or permissive. I guess that's the danger of trying to judge someone via posts on these boards?

As for the clip in the OP, well, I agree it is 100% horrible. However I realize that there is a time to be serious and there is a time to lighten up.

As I said, the video was offensive to me. And it was a "gut feeling" like PS 104 said (Holy Spirit), because I really didn't understand what the message of it was. I wasn't kidding when I said "I don't get it".
I'm embarrassed to ask, but what did it mean?

It's a parody on a song by SirMixalot called "Baby Got Back". "Baby Got Back", is about one man's admiration for the posteriors of black women and how he would like to know them in the way that Adam knew Eve without the entanglement of the God ordained institution of marriage. The song is filled with references to body parts that ought not be discussed, prostitution and foul language.

If you don't get the "Christian" remake of this song, it is a good thing. In my view, Christians who know this song ought to have given it up in favor of new songs and rebuke the old songs for the filth that they are. Other folks think they can take the world's music apply nice lyrics to it, call it Christian and think it humorous. Perhaps, we can look forward to Christian remakes of "Master of Puppets" by Metallica or "Beautiful People" by Marilyn Manson on "Godtube" as long as they talk about the Bible in it and redo it in a humorous fashion.

==I'm not sure there really was a meaning to it. It was a joke, you know, not serious.

I think some people, and I am not talking to/about you Amy, need to lighten up a bit. This was not the other song. Same tune, same lyric pattern, but different words. It seems like the video maybe several years old so it may have been done back when that song was popular (I'm not sure). There is no such thing as "the world's music" when speaking of a tune. A tune is not worldly. The lyrics is what makes a song carnal, worldly, or spiritual. I can take any song I want, re-write the lyrics, and I have a totally different song with the same tune. However this was meant to be a joke and I doubt there is a serious meaning behind the video. I'm sure that some of those who object to this video object to almost anything.

The video is not intended to be evangelistic, it is a joke, it is meant to be funny, and it is.

My favorite part is the end - "Bible college knowledge but she's still got book" - think about it, that's funny. Or - "...a sister with a bookmark in Proverbs you get stoked" - very funny. The video and music may be wrong, but if you listen to the words you can't help but laugh. (unless you are way too serious)
