In the earlier thread, we kind of got off the topic. We were discussing President Bush's speech about Ramadan. Pennsylvania Jim said
I myself am (was) a supporter of President Bush and believe that the man is a saved Brother in Christ. However, I am really having problems with 1) this specific speech 2) Colin Powell (who I assume was speaking for the administration) castigating the Christian Right, 3) Our government's resistance to acknowledging the militantism of Islam 4) and our government's inability to acknowledge Islam as the avowed enemy of the United States.

Agree with you, Mark, 100%. Sorry I got off on the tangent on the other thread. Thanks for starting a new one! [IMG]

Wasn't it because of the Religious Right vote that GW Bush ended up in the White House? I feel betrayed.

I too voted for Mr. Bush, though I now wonder why...
    but, I digress....
Mr. Bush and Colin Powell have both been cramming down the throats of the American People that the Muslims are a peace loving people. That could very well be, but with the possibility of so many of them being a part of a sleeper cell what should we do??? Recently Colin Powell said that we needed to bring more of these lunatics into our country and give them education and financing, etc., and Mr. Bush is all for this kind of an action. This is not the kind of thing that I would support. Didn't we lock up the "threat" in the 1940's. Was it wrong? There were many who DID sympathize with the communists and the Japanese then. Who's to say that there aren't many here now who are in sympathy with Osama bin Laden? We've had natural born Americans who've already stated that they are, one being the Nation of Islam leader, Farrakan. Who knows what this psycho is teaching his followers. Sorry for the rant, but it just really ticks me off that this administration is trying to tell us that these people are good and peace loving when their own religious books and teachings are proven otherwise. It's time for Americans to wake up and smell coffee!

    AJL

I sincerely hope that this quote is TIC!!
I, too, voted for GWB, but seeing the available options at the time, I DON'T wonder why! [IMG]
There's much that I disagree with re: GWB, but considering the alternative-----??!!

Mark, thanks for bringing this up again. I would add:

    5) Strenuously avoiding the abortion "issue" while innocents continue to be slaughterred at 3500 per day.

    6) Massive increases in Federal education spending along with the control that goes with it.

    7) Massive increases in federal spending in general, with budget increases that would make Al Gore jealous and Bill Clinton embarrassed (if it were possible).

    8) Creating the huge, dangerous, expensive Department of Homeland Security.

    9) Many sodomite appointments to key positions.

    10) Continuance of "police the world" use of the military rather than bringing them home wherever possible as promised.

    11) Getting us back into UNESCO, which Ronald Reagan wisely got us out of, and even Bill Clinton apparently made no effort to get us back into.

    12) Allowing...no, encouraging massive immigration, both legal and illegal.

    13) Supporting further socialized medicine (Hillary failed what the Republicans are pushing).

    14) Massive increases in Foreigh aid.

    15) Just today, committed $100 BILLION to his big shot buddies in the insurance business to cover their losses due to terrorism with OUR tax money.

    16)...on and on

AND, BY THE WAY, WE STILL HAVEN'T HEARD FROM SOME OF THOSE WHO WERE SO QUICK TO RIDUCULE THOSE OF US WHO WARNED THAT THIS GUY WAS A WOLF IN SHEEPS CLOTHING.

Lately, PA Jim, I'm starting to think you're right! No, actually it goes back to shortly after 09/11 when the Official Word came from the White House to the FBI to let the bin Laden relatives climb on their private jet & depart the Boston area without being questioned! That's when the red flags started to go up for me. That & the Saudi/Bush business dealings I found out about, i.e. Carlyle Corporation! But then I look at the alternative choice for President.... :(

I've lost all faith in our govt. They've ALL (including Congress) sold the American people out! :(

Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus!

If our pres. is truely a Christian, I also wish that he would take a stand for the truth of God's Word and the lie that is Islam. As for me all I can do is continue to pray for Mr. Bush and America.

Pennsylvania Jim, I feel that this along with the increasing advocation of homosexual "rights" are the two of the most dangerous things our nation could support. I really want the President to take a stand against these.

Also are all of the items you listed confirmed? I was not aware of some of those, I guess I should pay more attention to what our government is doing. Thanks for listing them.

    In Christ,
    Grayson

Grayson, I'm like the used car dealer down the street...I wouldn't say it if it weren't true. :D

Seriously, yes I can back up each point with documentation. Of course a few (not many) of the points may be subjective and someone with a non-Christian world view would disagree. You can pick those out, as I say maybe just a few at most.

By the way, a few folks in this thread (and other similar threads) state that they think he is a Christian. I wonder why...I would certainly not draw that conclusion based on his actions (fruits).

Who, Howard Phillips? I thought he was a wonderful candidate, and take great comfort in the fact that I voted for him.

Me too, quite awhile ago. That's why I'm so excited about whatever effort we can make to get folks to vote for good candidates, usually meaning not Republican or Democrat.

He will come in His time. But right now He is King of Kings, and Lord of Lords, sitting at the Right Hand of the Father. And we are His ambassadors.

The political scene can be discouraging, but if you approach it with open eyes it's not so bad because there are fewer bad surprises. Don't let it get you down! [IMG]
