Is this good or bad news for Romnehy?

Bain Documents Released By Gawker

Depends on how his campaign reacts. If they address the issue, it's bad news. If they ignore it, it's good news.

Really, this Bain Capital stuff is 10 years old. If you read the links in your story all this stuff was addressed when he ran for governor. It's just wasted resources by the opposition to bring it up. If Romney ignores it, it's good news.

If Romney was telling lies about his time of retirement and at Bain then it is new news and bad news. If it supports his contention then it is good news. He will have to respond, especially if it shows he was less then truthful. He will respond if it says he was telling the truth as he can say, "I told you so."

Looking through a few articles online at this time there seems to be a lot of information on tax dodging schemes used. There is also an interesting comment about Romney saying he retired in 1999, but that part of his retirement package invested in a entity that did not exist until 2002. Hmmmmmmmm, could be interesting.

As I said earlier in July, wait until September and see what comes out about Romney.

You really should read these stories that you post and not just the headlines. Had you read the links you would have seen this:

Dan Primack, who claims to have had access to most of the documents released in this package for months, says that Romney's retirement agreement with Bain entitled him to limited partnership stakes in all Bain funds raised for ten years after he left the company, which would explain how his investments in the 2002 and 2008 funds could be considered part of the 1999 agreement.

So, once again, nothing to see here. Please move along.

Not much will come out. He has been vetted by a governorship of a liberal state and a senatorial run against Edward Kennedy. If there was something it would have been unearthed by now.

There are about nine weeks left until the election. It is time to focus on issues such as jobs, immigration, Social Security, the national debt, sticking our noses into everyone's business around the world, energy, the Middle East (Iran, Israel) and the ineptitude of Congress. It is time to forget about things like Bain, birth certificates, expired cancer policies, and how Romney and Obama like their steaks ordered.

Agreed, SN. And I liked how Ryan went into Florida and touted his Medicare plan. Obama's in a kind of a box on Medicare. He can't claim that he's saving it or strengthening it by cutting $700B from it to pay for ObamaCare. Also, at the RNC convention there will be a scoreboard behind the main podium showing the increasing U.S. national debt.

But Obama doesn't have anything to run on. What's he got? I ordered the hit on Osama bin laden. The government saved GM. Romney hasn't released his tax records. Big Deal!

AGREED.

Although, if the republicans want to ensure the female vote, Ryan's gonna have to lose the shirt and show off those P-90 abs! (historically, women voters have been known to vote for the better-looking of the candidates....)

(in case anyone missed it: just kidding!)

Wait--so now it comes out that Gawker uses the same "off-shore tax dodging" ... but it's apparently wrong if Bain and/or Romney do it?

Pay attention, CTB: either you believe Obama is going to pull us out of this economic mess and Romney isn't; or vice versa. Be honest with your evaluations, and focus your support on the exact plans Obama will use to turn things around. Otherwise, point out how Romney won't change anything, and focus your efforts on the un-partisan analyses that support that.

Anything else is just a smoke screen to get your attention off the real issues.

Update on Gawker From National Review:

As John Cassidy relates in The New Yorker, Gawker’s finances are “organized like an international money-laundering operation.” For example:

Much of its international revenues are directed through Hungary, where [bossman Nick] Denton’s mother hails from, and where some of the firm’s techies are located. But that is only part of it. Recently, [Felix] Salmon reports, the various Gawker operations—Gawker Media LLC, Gawker Entertainment LLC, Gawker Technology LLC, Gawker Sales LLC—have been restructured to bring them under control of a shell company based in the Cayman Islands, Gawker Media Group Inc.

Nothing is going to improve the economic mess for the working class until WW3. Romney will trash SS and Medicare.

And Obama hasn't already?

Think you need to read up on Ryan's current plan (not the 2011one that Obama and Biden mistakenly (purposefully?) keep referring to), and find out why it's being co-sponsored and supported by Democrats.
