I see there is a post on hair but unfortunately this isn't one of them and will not be a hair raising topic. Baldness is in the bible and those with lack of hair should not be overlooked or made sport of either. Who else on here is not afraid to step up to the plate and say I'm bald and I'm proud to be a bald Baptist? Be kind to the brethren of the chome dome brotherhood of whom Elisha was a member!

II Kings 222] So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spake.

[23] And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.

[24] And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

[25] And he went from thence to mount Carmel, and from thence he returned to Samaria.

Hey bald is in... Look at all these hairless smilies on the BB!... Any questions?... Bald Brother Glen  :D [IMG] [IMG]

It's cool, Glen. My dad told me that he was bald because his growing brains had pushed out all his hair.

You have no idea how long I believed that! But, then, he was one of the smartest men I have ever met!

However, there is something to confess here, and maybe this will help other women at least, I don't know. While I did not inherit any gray hair genes from my mother, I have inherited some male pattern baldness from my father -- which is why you will always see me with bangs now!

    Maybe my brains are....???

    nahhhhh

I can dry my hair with a wash cloth, thank you. Actually, it's a great blessing. I don't worry about which style I'll wear today. When I get my hair cut, it's pretty obvious what should be done. (I would ask for a discount, given the amount of hair that's involved, but the wife cuts it anyway.)

    Hair today, gone tomorrow.

"For what is your hair? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away."

"But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows."

In England, we used to call baldness a skating rink for flies. See, there is purpose for everything.

    Cheers,

I think for men to lose their hair that men just accept the fact that they are bald... Maybe all the way bald or bald with fenders. For a woman to go bald that is another thing and since it is her covering it must be very devestating and I will let Helen address that issue. I also know when people go in for chemotherapy they also lose their hair. Why is hair so important and is it not just another vanity to add to all the others. I personally don't understand why a woman would cover her beautiful hair constantly if God says its her glory. To all you men with your nice wavy hair... Hair today gone tomorrow  ... It's not bad....so far... :D

But I've worn wigs before and I can again! It's hard to tell a good one from the real thing. When I was kicked by a horse when I was 21, I managed to be back at work in a hospital in a month. But I did buy two very natural looking but inexpensive wigs that made it very easy to sleep as late as possible and then be off and away quickly.

I have seen much older women (I'm only 54!) who were practically bald and my heart did go out to them. I know there are chemicals that can stimulate hair growth about them, but I don't know enough about them and possible long range effects to trust them.

Besides, I have this strange faith that God knows what He is doing!

Male pattern baldness is something the lower classes of society must learn to live with. Sign of the curse of God on the genetics of some. Weak systems. Can't even grow hair.  [IMG]

Oops. Did I say that out loud? Gotta scoot. Time for a haircut.

I don't have any chest hair, do I count???

I'm endowed with a full head of hair, as have all males in my line before me. However, all we need to do is see todays sex symbols, such as Patrick Stewart and Sean Connery, to know that God doesn't put marble tops on cheap furniture.

I started losing my hair at 19. At that point I figured that I might as well accept it. I have never tried and will never try the comb over. I really can't figure out why some men do that.

What hair I do have I keep cut very short, but I will not shave my head. I hate to shave my face everyday, why would I want to shave my head.

The thing that really baffles me is that I can't grow hair on my head, but I have no trouble growing it anywhere else! I wouldn't mind haveing a bald back, but no I have to have a bald head.

Years ago in a small extablishment in the Philippines, as a slightly balding man entered, I heard several of the girls in the extablishment procede with a string of the local language and the only distinguishable words came thru were "low tide". Upon questioning one of them she pointed to the balding gent and replied "You can see the bottom".

Hair today - gone tomorrow! [IMG] I just wish those men going bald would admit to it and make the best of it. Nothing looks worse than a man who will allow his hair to grow real long on the sides and pull it over the top of his head all the way from above one ear!

I do enjoy watching them walk on a windy day though - they walk in one direction while holding their "do" in an opposite one.

Me - I have a bald spot on the crown of my head. From the front you'd never know it and I've made it a point not to worry about it since I can't see it. :D

When I was in high school, our band director had a toupee that would flap up on windy days.

We always used to get a kick out of it and when it did, we'd always say "butter"..."butter"..."butter"..."Par-kaaayy" like in the old commercials.

I'm thinning on top now, myself but the good news is, when you're 6'4", nobody can see it.

As an author to one of the hair topics... I will clarify that baldness was indeed included and discussed in the thread that I started.

My Dad shaved his head bald on purpose...I have a fondness for men with little hair...

I have also had a friend (female) who when undergoing chemo lost all her hair...and it didn't make her cringe to bare her noggen either.

Hair/No hair...be happy with who you are...
