Banning from forum

What are the reasons a person could be banned from the forum?
There is a progressive system of warnings given when there is a violation of the TOS/Board Rules.

The first time you violate the rules you are given a warning that does not count against you.

The second infraction results in a warning which carries a 1 point penalty. The penalty stays on your record for 30 days, minimum. (Penalties can be for more than one point and last for more than 30 days depending on the seriousness of the violation.)

When you get 4 infractions within 30 days you are banned for 30 days from the date of the original infraction. In other words, if your first infraction was on the 15th of the month, it will expire on the 15th of the following month. If you get 3 more infractions prior to the 15th of the following month, the ban will be until the 15th of the month when the first warning point expires.

However, egregious violations of the TOS/Board rules can result in immediate, permanent banning.

Permabanning requires the consensus of the Admin team.

I asked because I was reading through some old threads and saw some banned members. I was wondering if banning was ever done for doctrinal reasons.

BB is a fairly big tent compared to other sites. However, out and out heresy will get a permaban in a heartbeat. Also, don't put your muddy boots up on our furniture.

Denying any of the following:

1. The Deity of Christ.
2. The Virgin Birth.
3. The Blood Atonement.
4. The Bodily Resurrection.
5. The inspiration of the scriptures

Like good NLF referees, I happy to see that the moderators here are not heavyhanded. Too much activity from the mods interferes with the "game", and too little can lead to injuries on the "field".

***More than a couple of people might be in violation of #3, depending on how it's defined.

If it were my board, I would ban semi-Pelagians, but that would only leave about a 1/2 dozen of us standing. ;););)

Could you elaborate on Number 3?
As a type of Christ, Leviticus tells us: "For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul."
Leviticus 17:11

If it were my board I would ban everybody except me. That way we would all agree about everything. :D:D:D:D

I hear ya; although, I might just start arguing with myself.
That is a daily occurrence with me.

Used to be I had a one way conversation.
Alarm went off in the morning and I said, time to get up and I got up.

Now, I don't set the alarm (only for Sunday's) and often have to talk with myself to find out if all the parts are still working.

So, I do a lot of arguing with myself. I even get mad at myself and can't stand to be around him. That's why I go hide under the bed covers some more. Avoidance!

Hey, that sort of thing happens, check out this exchange where BB member "Reformed" posted as his other BB identity "Herald" conversing with a third identity of his, "MorseOp":
Well, since everyone is now avoiding labels  all I will say is that those who believe that regeneration precedes faith also believe that Bible contains the words that lead to life. I don't think either side disputes that fact.
Somehow I think the areas in which both sides agree are easily ignored by most of us.

I wouldn't have appealed to the Old Covenant to explain the New Covenant atonement.
