Baptists should vote for Hillary Clinton in 2008

Judging by the threads about Graham on this board, I think "Baptist Pope" is a wee bit of a stretch.

 

1. Baptists have no Pope.

2. I won't be voting for Hitlery, neither will I vote for Huckleberry. GOP better steer clear of that train wreck.

I have an immense amount of respect for Rev. Graham, but the day I vote for Hillary Clinton will be the day I grow wings and fly. --And, no, Red Bull doesn't count.

Not withstanding, I think Rev. Graham was merely joking politely.

 

Graham was making a joke about wives running the show people. Lighten up.

 

I think Brother Graham was simply being polite.

Nope. I would not vote for her. It sounds more like he was joking....sarcastically joking.

I actually lost my respect for billy graham when he started using his pulpit and authority to promote political agendas. I remember the day he boldly stood up and said I am and will always be a democrat. So what if hillary supports stem cell research, so what if it was she and her husband that pushed for 9 month term abortions, so what if she supports gay and lesbian marriage? I would be ashamed to say I was a Christian who fully beleives in the Word of God and then also say I supported such evils.

I smoked----ummmmmmmmmm----I'd smoke it----but it would have to be ME that unwraps the cigar from the celophane-----I can tell ya this----I wouldn't smoke it if he offered it from his mouth---"Here, Blackbird---take a puff!!!!" And I knew the cigar had done had his lips touchin' it and I knew that I didn't know where and who's lips his lips had been touchin'-----no way I'd smoke it!!!

Graham: Yes. I am.

Couric: Do you think people would be surprised to learn that? Because generally, in this day and age, Evangelical Christians are closely associated with the Republican Party.

Graham: Well, I don't know that. I've never found out who they're associated with. Locally, I'll vote one way and nationally, maybe another.

There are lots of people where I live that vote Democrat locally and Republican nationally. Democrats hold the vast majority of local offices, basically unopposed by Republicans, yet my county voted for President Bush.

It goes back to the days of the solid Democrat South. National politics have changed as far as parties are concerned but not necessarily on the local level.
