Battle of the paradigms

    I was thinking about how things change so much throughout the years. Things were a lot different 100, 200, 300 years ago, etc. This current movement (call it emergant, missional, different, I'm not speaking about specific heretical movements) of structuring church differently sure pushes a lot of peoples' buttons. Much of it has to do with aesthetics more than anything, definitely different methods (more relational-driven than program-driven), the younger evangelical churches are just desiring to create a different look/feel for leading people to Christ (Don't get all mad and say it's not about how you feel....I'm not talking about liberal doctrine, or feelings over truth).

    Here's my point......in a hundred years from now, maybe not even that long, there will probably be a new shift with people trying to change things up again, and will get those raised in the next 50 - 75 years angry for trying to make things different. It'll be like the English Bible coming out all over again, just as it was when the NIV Bible came out, then those "postmodern" people removed the pews and put up candles and loud music! The next generation will take away the candles and make things different all over again! Is this a cycle that there is nothing we can do about it?? It kind of makes me laugh when I think about it. My great-grandchildren will probably think I'm too "traditional" when I am not "traditional" in the sense of the word when used today. Any thoughts?

    Expect a new translation of the Bible to come out using "net language," you know the type you find when your kids are messaging each other. The English language is quickly becoming unrecognizable.

    Yes, as scripture declares we will not progress to be better people in the world but evil will increase, famine of the Word, total lack of inhibition to great sin, overt willfulness of the individual!
    The world will continue as in the days of the judges when 'men did what was right in their own eyes'.
    However, there is a remnant that will draw closer to their Lord, in the cleft of the Rock, under His Wings, to know Him and to be known by Him will be their greatest desire! There will be increased need for sacrifice on all levels and to take a strong stand and be known as one of His! This becomes more difficult as we are continually bombarded with the ways of the world in our day to day existence!
    It is time for believers to declare their loyalty and to be known well as His ambassadors!
    I have a concern that our Bible will be 'watered down', not only made simple in translation but by accepting only what one chooses from it!
    We will likely continue on a trend of 'worshipping we know not what' as the Corinthians did.
    During this time of overt apostasy we will observe the clarity of 1John2:19: 'They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.'
