This man has been dubbed as "Eliot Ness with a Harvard law degree and a sense of humor." Conservatives and liberals alike have admiration and respect for him and his patriotic dedication. He has been the chief prosecutor in cases ranging from organized crime members to al Qaeda.

So, before the decision comes out about Karl Rove, etc., thought I'd post something about him. If it doesn't go the way Republicans hope it goes, I've no doubt he'll be among the hated. If it does go the way Republicans hope it goes, he will still be among the hated.

And, if it doesn't go the way some Democrats hope it goes, I've no doubt he'll be among the hated by some Democrats. If it does go the way some Democrats hope it goes, he will be a hero to some Democrats.

With the two major parties it's all about whose ox is being gored as to whom they love or hate.

You're absolutely right. Neither of the two major parties cares about the American people or what is best for our country.

This is so terribly true and it is a sad state of affairs.

Fitzgerald's credentials seem to be impeccdable. So were Ken Starrs. Yet Starr ended being reviled by politicians and liberals everywhere.

Will the same happen to Fitzgerald if he continues to broaden the scope of his investigation in what some could call a fishing expedition?

I have also given some thought to the composition of the grand jury.

Is it possible to impanel a politically neutral grand jury in that city? Is it loaded with idealogs of one kind or another?

Indictments are incredibly easy to get with an acquiescent grand jury.

I am wondering how he is going to bring people to trial when there is no crime? And if he is going to bring people to trial, will Joe Wilson be brought to trial for lying? Can't we say that one's country is more important than publicity for one's book sales? Newspapermen are going to fool around and make it a crime to talk to them and the government will go into silence. Of course, considering the low educational level of most reporters, it is very risky talking to them because they cannot report truthfully if their educational level is debased by ideology.

    Remember Martha Stewart.

She was found guilty of hindering an investigation of a crime that wasn't a crime.

    It can happen.

I heard Sean Hannity jumping on Fitzgerald yesterday as being an overzealous prosecutor. I think that Hannity is way off base in his criticism.

    Me, too, Ken.

    Thanks, BIR. :(

I used to have a great deal of trust in Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly. I believed them & Fox News to be fair and balanced. But my opinion has changed over the last several years. Too bad. It is a lost Great Hope of mine. :(
