Benghazi Emails Directly Contradict White House Claims

The White House on Wednesday released 94 pages of emails between top administration and intelligence officials who helped shape the talking points about the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, that the CIA would provide to policymakers in both the legislative and executive branches.
Pretty sure HPSCI won't like them :)

The documents, first reported by THE WEEKLY STANDARD in articles here and here, directly contradict claims by White House press secretary Jay Carney and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that the revisions of those talking points were driven by the intelligence community and show heavy input from top Obama administration officials, particularly those at the State Department.

The emails provide further detail about the rewriting of the talking points during a 24-hour period from midday September 14 to midday September 15. As THE WEEKLY STANDARD previously reported, a briefing from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence shows that the big changes came in three waves – internally at the CIA, after email feedback from top administration officials, and during or after a meeting of high-ranking intelligence and national security officials the following morning.

LOL. I'm guessing you didn't read those links, because they both admit the talking points were changed by employees of the state department.

Care to try again ? You're the one calling it a lie, shouldn't you at least try to back it up ?

The more things change, the more they stay the same!!:sleep::sleep:

MP posted a similar story with his own questionable source. If their claim is true why aren't any of the major news agencies reporting this as well?

The point is that the GOP is playing politics and fast and loose with the truth.

But politicians are politicians and truth is a rather meaningless word for them.

No the point is extreme far left liberals are working hard to cover for Obama after a very hard week among many scandalous revelations.

And the Republicans are working hard at smearing him with no real interest in the truth ... and in smearing Hillary concerning the 2016 election.

There is nothing surprising in either your comment or mine. It is simply politics where truth has little meaning.

Agree?

Uh no, the President jumped all over to all knowledge and credit for the killing of Bin Laden but in all of this he is completely ignorant. Go figure. Obama tried to cover his narrative that he had all but completely eradicated terrorism. (what joke) and Benghazi hurt that so they had to fabricate the cause in order to save his election.

Telling our response teams to stand down while Americans were being killed is just tragic. And what is more tragic is the cover up and those who defend it.

As I said, politicians are politicians regardless of party. Nothing surprising in your comment whether it is true or not. Every president has done the same. After all we now know that Bush lied a number of times in his buildup to invading Iraq. Nothing surprising there either, he is/was a politician.

A small piece of advice. Take anything any politician says with a large grain of salt. I am not naive enough not to do so. I also know there is much that goes on that we never hear about ... both good and bad.

Uh no, it is not a fact that Bush lied. In fact as you well know he made the same claim that every liberal democrat had made prior to going back in.

If that is the advice you want to give I would suggest you begin by living by it yourself. Calling the GOP liars based on the hufpo piece which distorts the CBS piece is not the way to live by that.

That he lied is a well established fact. Just for starters read George Tenet's book At the Center of the Storm. The book covers Tenet's years as the head of the CIA. There is much he could not tell, but what he did report was quite convincing that the Bush administration lied and knew it was telling a lie. They knew the "yellow cake" report was not the truth, yet they used it as justification.

Ah, say the man who uses completely non-creditable sources most of the time.

If you are naive enough to believe the GOP slant then I have a bridge I want to sell you. None of us will ever know the real truth on this one. Truth was the first victim of this sorted business.

Yes of course, and source that is not extreme far left socialist organization is not credible. It is not a given that we will not know the truth. Of course Obama water carriers like your self would certainly not want the truth to be known.

I know you do not want to believe it, but it is quite well proven now. Saddam did have "yellow cake", but that had been obtained previously. The story Bush pushed was not true and he knew it.

Huff is certainly no more biased, if as much, as Fox and other sources you use. Sorry, but that is the truth also.

We will never know the truth about the Iran Contra during Reagan's term. That was effectively covered up by the GOP.

We will never know the truth about Reagan and what part his administration played in the Salvadorian death squads.

We will never know the truth over Salvador Allende either. I know for an absolute fact we were not told the truth on that one. I was in South America just before it happened and what we were told was not true. I have no idea what part the US played in his overthrow and none of us will ever now. This was the first time I really questioned who controls our press.

We common folk do not now, for the most part, what is really going on in most areas.

More on the GOP and distorting the truth:

So here is what liberals do and it is for all to see here. When they have no answer for the failed leadership on their side of the isle they try to obfuscate the issue by pointing to what they want to believe about people who are no longer in leadership.

It is the old well if they did it we should give our guy room to do it. Bottom of the barrel morals.

I see nothing in your reply that addresses the issue under discussion. I gave you a number of links and then you run and hide behind an attempted insult. Sorry, won't hole water.

You have been shown the GOP has lied. Don't run and hide. Face it like a man.
