In late May I went to see Benny Hinn and it was a lot different than what you see on T.V. So I prayed a lot when I was there that God would heal myself, my husband and my father=in-law of all of our heath problems. Well it did not happened. I understand that it was not God's will that we be healed but, the way that Benny Hinn acts is that all will be healed at this services. So to say the least I no longer watch TBN now I only watch the 700 club on CBN. SO I wanted to get a feel for how the Baptist Board Community felt about this.

I think that people really do get healed at those things, however its not that benny hinn is a faith healer, its just God working through him, I think that its wrong to make a big show about the thing, but there are still healings taking place

I don't believe Benny Hinn to be a faith healer... nor am I a faith healer... but I'll pray that God will heal you and your family... [IMG]

    Sorry -

I will not defend any deMoNation - especially the SBC.

We Baptists are quick to judge...

i say we cuz I too am a Baptist.

    but MOST importantly -

    Im a Christian

Each part of the body of Christ has different functions -

Benny Hinn's function is apparently healing -

John Hagee's function apears to be toe stompin -

    ;)

Who says were not to judge? Where do you get such ideas anyway? Most of you, if not all of you, make judgements everyday. If a drunkard or drug addict were to come to you and ask of you $100.00, would you give it to him? Why or why not? Either way, you would be making a judgement.

1Cor.2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
--Here Jesus commands us to judge righteous judgment.

Concerning Benny Hinny, he is a fraud; I don't believe he is even saved.

    1. He is a false prophet:
HINN SAYS DEAD WILL BE RAISED TO LIFE AT TV SETS
    Late Dec. 1999-
"Charismatic leader Benny Hinn on Paul & Jan Crouch's TBN said people are going to be raised from the dead watching TBN. He said 'People are going to be canceling funeral services and bringing their dead in their caskets, placing them before a TV set, waiting for God's power to touch them.' He said they would be raised from the dead by the thousands (11/22 Chr. News)..
(THE CALVARY CONTENDER, VOL. XVI NO. 24, December 15, 1999)

    2. He is involved in the occult:
"As I watched Hinn's antics, I realized that what I was seeing was not of God's Spirit, but another spirit.
Prior to my salvation, I was involved in the occult and I recognized the difference when Hinn was growling and his mannerisms changed and his demeanor changed and his voice changed. People are so hungry for this apostasy and they blindly follow the false teachers without bothering to search the scriptures on their own to see is what is being preached is in line with the Word of God."
You have heard of Slain in the Spirit, Drunk in the Spirit! Now Benny Hinn on a recent "This is your Day" broadcast claims that God is dealing in drugs! He proclaims that one women who was rolling around on stage was getting "Ecstasy in the Spirit"
On another "This is Your Day" telecast Benny Hinn states "I place a curse on every man and every women that will stretch his hand against this anointing! I curse that man who dares to speak a word against this ministry"
How sad to see so many people follow this false teacher/prophet! May God open the eyes of those caught up in these deceptions!"
    David McAllister

Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing.

How does Paul Crouch (the white hair guy on TBN with the pink hair lady (Jan Crouch) that cries constantly) know that the "miracle" is a work of God?

Most conservative Christians believe that the evil one can and will do lying wonders to deceive the church. I've read too much about Benny Hinn to believe his ministry is from God. There's a magazine on the stands this month (I think it's called "Skeptic" which examines Benny Hinn's techniques. They conclude his using techniques of stage hypnotism to cause emotional reactions. They also followed some of the "healed" to see how they fared.)

Too many of these "faith healers" are teaching a prosperity gospel (which is a false teaching that turns our relationship with God on its head) that has pagan roots (the "New Thought Movement" which spawned "Christian Science", "Unity" and various other cults).

Do some research on the "New Thought Movement" and you won't be able to watch most "Christian" TV anymore...

You two have some good points. I don't watch Benny Hinn and have not a lot so I really honestly cannot recommend the program? But with John Hagee, I think it is a good ministry.

Oh and about Judging, That verse you put explains exacly what I mean!
John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

Since Many Christians Seem to Not Like The Show I would not recommend it. We want Christians to Grow not Get More Confused.

Here are some links that will help expose the man for the fraud that he is:

    http://www.cultlink.com/ar/hinnfalse.htm

    http://www.gospelcom.net/apologeticsindex/h01.html

Here are some of Hinn's quotes from the above link:

Are you ready for some real revelation knowledge....you are god
Source: Benny Hinn, Our Position In Christ, tape # AO31190-1

I am a 'little messiah' walking the earth
Source: Benny Hinn, "Praise-a-Thon" on TBN, November 6, 1990

Adam was a super being when God created him. I don't know whether people know this, but he was the first Superman that really ever lived. First of all, the Scriptures declare clearly that he had dominion over the fowls of the air, the fish of the sea - which means he used to fly. Of course, how can he have dominion over the birds and not be able to do what they do? The word "dominion" in the Hebrew clearly declares that if you have dominion over a subject, that you do everything that subject does. In other words, that subject, if it does someting you cannot do, you don't have dominion over it. I'll prove it further. Adam not only flew, he flew to space. He was-with one thought he would be on the moon.
Source: Benny Hinn, Praise the Lord program on TBN, December 26, 1991

Man, I feel revelation knowledge already coming on me here. Life your hands. Something new is going to happen here today. I felt it just as I walked down here. Holy Spirit, take over in the name of Jesus... God the Father, ladies and gentlemen, is a person; and He is a triune being by Himself separate from the Son and the Holy Ghost. Say, what did you say? Hear it, hear it, hear it. See, God the Father is a person, God the Son is a person, God the Holy Ghost is a person. But each one of them is a triune being by Himself. If I can shock you - and maybe I should - there's nine of them. Huh, what did you say? Let me explain: God the Father, ladies and gentlemen, is a person with his own personal spirit, with his own personal soul, and his own personal spirit-body. You say, Huh, I never heard that. Well you think you're in this church to hear things you've heard for the last 50 years?
Source: Benny Hinn, Benny Hinn program on TBN October 3, 1991

God came from heaven, became a man, made man into little gods, went back to heaven as a man. He faces the Father as a man. I face devils as the son of God... Quit your nonsense! What else are you? If you say, I am, you're saying I'm a part of Him, right? Is he God? Are you His offspring? Are you His children? You can't be human! You can't! You can't! God didn't give birth to flesh. You said, "Well, that's heresy." No, that's your crazy brain saying that.
Source: Benny Hinn, Our Position in Christ #2-The Word Made Flesh (Orlando: Orlando Christian Center, 1991), videotape #255.

And let me add this: Had the Holy Spirit not been with Jesus, He would have sinned. That,s right, it was the Holy Spirit that was the power that kept Him pure. He was not only sent from heaven, but He was called the Son of Man - and as such He was capable of sinning... Without the Holy Ghost, Jesus would have never have made it... Can you imagine Christ headed for the grave, knowing He would remain there forever, if the Holy Ghost would change His mind about raising Him from the dead?
Source: Benny Hinn, Good Morning, Holy Spirit (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1990), 135-36.

Ladies and gentlemen, the serpent is a symbol of Satan. Jesus Christ knew the only way He would stop Satan is by becoming one in nature with him. You say, "What did you say? What blasphemy is this?" No, you hear this! He did not take my sin; He became my sin. Sin is the nature of hell. Sin is what made Satan... It was sin that made Satan. Jesus said, "I'll be sin! I'll go to the lowest place! I'll go to the origin of it! I won't just take part in it, I'll be the totality of it!" When Jesus became sin, sir, He took it from A to Z and said, "No more!" Think about this: He became flesh, that flesh might become like Him. He became death, so dying man can live. He became sin, so sinners can be righteous in Him. He became one with the nature of Satan, so all those who had the nature of Satan can partake of the nature of God.
Source: Benny Hinn, Benny Hinn program on TBN (December 15, 1990).

If it wasn't for the adoration of sheep to follow Hinn and the greed of power and money Benny Hinn would be history... Wait awhile and he will be!... btw the Primitive Baptist brethren aren't deceived by this charlatan and fake and his so called healing circus. They pop up in every generation and no generation is exempt... Read church history as that is the way its always been, even when the Lord Jesus Christ walked the earth!... Brother Glen [IMG]

Benny Hinn was caught paying people to get healed at his circus shows. He can not give the name of one person who was actually healed at his shows, not one can step forward with medical proof that they were healed. No, many have been disappointed inGod when they go home only to find that they were not healed, many have died from thier illness they were suposedly healed form. Does God do a half a job, or can we count on Him all the way?

He's been proven a fake over and over again.
Ever hear of testing the spirits to see if they are from God? Well it's in the bible. And testing to see if Benny Hinn is false or not is not unbiblical, we are commanded to judge if what he teaches is true. Benny Hinn doctrines can not stand up un scripture.

And 700 club is just as bad, they support and believe in people like Benny Hinn, even use the tatics of people like him. They give false teachers time on their show to spout their falsness to weak believers. If 700 club is a christian program, then let them act like it and step forward and denounce false teachers( the ones who they invite on their show ),and make their show a bible based show instead a circus where God preforms on demand.I stopped watching them years ago when Pat Robertson personally claimed credit for all the people who were saved in Russia, and that too bad he couldn't save more becasue the viewers hadn't sent him enough money, saying he was the only ministry in Russia.According to him 30,000,000 people(in Russia) are going to hell because viewers did give him more money. This I saw for myself.
I was actaully d u m b enough to call for prayer one time when I was really scared over haveing to have a mammogram, they didn't care, all they wanted to know was if I had spoken in tongues, and did I want to give them money.

Afraid I have to go with Brother Glen on this. You don't even want to know what I think of him!
I will say this: I can't remember exact Bible refrence at the moment, but somewhere it says something about those who Prophisied in His name and cast out devils, and did good works, and who professed such things, would be told by the Lord:"depart from me ye that work iniquity, I never knew ye." or something like that.

    Matthew 7 (New International Version)
22Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

    Matthew 7 (King James Version)
    7:22
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
    7:23
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

I read a book by Benny Hinn and it changed my life. Now more than ever though, I am a skeptical person when it comes to ANY televangelist. That's Billy Graham, Schuller, Dr. James Dobson, Chuck Swindoll, Benny Hinn, etc. My life changing experience while reading a Benny Hinn book entitled "The Blood" is something I'll treasure. I am just a pure skeptic. [IMG]
