    House of Games

All About Eve (with Bette Davis - what a movie!)

    Ice Age 2 (a riot!)

Madagascar: Back 2 Africa (the 2nd movie - very funny!)

I'll try to think of more and post later.

Wife just reminded me that I went to see The Green Berets and The Bridge on the River Kwai...I had political reasons and old memories to rehash. She also said I took girls to see the picture about a family gettig shipwrecked on an island...I think I dozed through it.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I am listing movies I think are really good, but not necessarily the "best movies of all time." That's too hard. [IMG]

I saw "Slumdog Millionaire" and thought that was good. The guy who plays the host of the Who Wants to Be A Millionaire show in India is superb. Worth seeing the show just to see him.

    Also, "Night Listener."

    Anne of Green Gables
Anne of Avonlea (I don't like the third one at all)
    White Christmas
    Holiday Inn
    Greek Wedding
    Shrek 1
Rocky series (not the most recent one)
    Evie
    Sound of Music
    Cinderfella
Little Women (the one from the 40s)

These are all favorites but I couldn't really tell you what I thought was the best of all time. I prefer fluffly black and whites.

Here's a list of those I enjoyed, not necessarily the best:

    Gone With the Wind
    Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
    Hunt for Red October
    Bridge on the River Kwai
    The Longest Day
    How the West Was Won

I haven't seen enough movies to say. My favorites:

    Casablanca
    Strangers on a Train
    The Fugitive

For comedy, any Airplane movie and the 1975 Pink Panther movie, whose name escapes me.

The Spiral Staircase (from 1946 - a classic suspense movie)

The Rope (an early Alfred Hitchchcock, and one of my favorites of his)

Equilibrium- a scifi with a highly intriguing plot that borrows elements from "1984" and "Animal Farm"

    The Bourne trilogy.

Hitchcock's stuff freaks me out, but I watch it anyway.

I love anything by Hitchcock, except The Birds. Now that was a stupid movie!

I saw The Birds as a little kid, and still get the willies when the blackbirds show up (no offense to our own Blackbird on the BB - I don't get the willies when he shows up - well, most of the time anyway).

    Dawn of the Dead (original)
    Blast from the Past
    Chariots of Fire
Beauty and the Beast (best animated)
    What About Bob?
    Young Frankenstein
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
    The Postman
    October Sky
    Sleepless in Seattle
    The Shop Around the Corner
    You've Got Mail
    Let It Ride
    While You Were Sleeping
    Two Weeks Notice
    Slumdog Millionaire

I liked The Birds also, as well as The Bourne Identity (though the book was much better) and just about any movie made before 1955. I liked almost every movie listed on this page.
