"Pastor" Steve actually believes this and he has scripture to "prove" it. He also states that it is blasphemous to use the title "Master" for oneself.

Evidently he believes all teens should be married by the age of 18 or 19!

This video is an hour long. Just pretend it is the "Tonight Show" w/ Jay Leno get a bucket of popcorn and have a good laugh.

The flock will only learn as far as the Shepherd is able to lead them. Perhaps is reasoning is found in his own background:

I fully agree with you. Also from the quote "Pastor Anderson was sent out by a totally independent Baptist church to start it the old-fashioned way by knocking doors and winning souls to Christ."

Yes, I believe that folks can be saved by door knocking, but - and a big but - many live in gated communities- and door knocking is not allowed - and even in areas where you can door knock- many people will not open the door for strangers - esp religious.
Anderson also insinuated that four young guys at Bible college sharing a room.... well just let your imagination wander....

Well, I hate to say it, but I kind of agree. Even though I taught at a Bible College, I now think the better path to the Pastorate is a BA/BSc from a liberal arts college then an MDiv from a good seminary. It is not the only path to the pastorate but it is my preferred and recommended path. :)

then you missed the part, where he believes a college has not business issuing a masters degrees, as Jesus said in Matt 23:10 Neither be ye called masters for one is your Master, [even] Christ. Seriously, he believes a MA is blasphemous

A person I know has been a missionary in East Africa for 15 years. He says the locals memorize the Q'ran in Arabic but can neither read nor understand Arabic. They print Bibles in the local language but have to do it as a local/Greek-Aramiac-Hebrew parallel edition. Having the original languages across the page convinces the their translation is authentic. My point is that memorizing scripture doesn't prove much except having a good memory.

This guy sounds like a Primitive Baptist. (didn't watch)

Excellent point. In the AWANA program, when a kid would recite a verse, I would often ask him questions about it....

I volunteered to do the dirty work - no need for everyone to waste their time!

Oh yes, he believes so many warped things.

Can I ask a question about "soul winning". What is that?? I understand going door to door to witness but I've seen on their forum where just getting someone to pray the prayer means that they "won a soul to Christ" and when I asked how they deal with follow-up and discipleship - or if they even suggest that someone go to church now, I was booted from the site! So are they really "winning souls to Christ" (where is THAT idea Biblical??) or are they getting notches in their belt for someone just saying a prayer and we don't know if they mean it or not?? I mean they say that their 8 year old "Won 25 people to Christ this weekend!" or something like that (can't remember the number) but just how many of those 25 are true followers of Christ?

John 3 refutes the concept of "soul winning." The Holy Spirit goes where she will and regenerates whom she chooses.

Actually, as near as I can tell, the term "soul-winning" came from the book by Spurgeon that seems to be most unknown of his: The Soul Winner. Spurgeon opens the book with this statement as the second sentence: "Soul-winning is the chief business of the Christian minister; indeed, it should be the main pursuit of every true believer."

However, of course we can all agree that Spurgeon didn't mean what this Pastor Steve means. :type:

Precisely! But as an English term in the Christian world, the noun "soul winner" does not seem to occur before Spurgeon, as far as I can tell.

Actually, Dr. Fay (Christian Connection of NYC, First Unitarian of Los Angeles) used the term prior to Spurgeon.

Thank you! I'm glad to know this. I've thought that the term must have been common in those days, but never could find anything earlier than Spurgeon's book.

Wow this guy is very condescending and insulting. He says "I'm not making fun of asian people." Right after he just got done making fun of an asian person's name? Then calling a guy a moron? This guy has issues.
