    I've got a question...

... for all the SDA's and Calvies on the board ...

... If you are truly studying the Bible, how is it that all the "gaps" in your theology just happen to correspond to the "gaps" in SDA or Calvinism??

Is there no independent divergence in your thought on issues where your theologies are silent? Like (Calvie) Eschatology or the mysteries? Like (SDA) divinity of Christ?

I guess what I want to hear is more proof that your beliefs are Holy Spirit inspiration of scripture rather than human spirit of men who have done the hard work of Bible study for you.

Do you realize what you're asking? You're asking, "Why do all the gaps in SDA and Calvinism theology correspond to the gaps in SDA and Calvinism theology?" Then, after asking this meaningless question, you fail to identify any gaps.

I see a huge empty gap from where I sit, and it isn't in anyone's theology.

It is this exact mentality that is causing division among our SBC churches... and our associations and convention.

First of all, SDA's can't post in this section, so you will not get an answer from them.

Second, what are you talking about?

Don't you understand, Amy. Skypair gets his beliefs from a direct revelation from God, Holy Spirit. The proof that you don't have the Holy Spirit helping you (or me) is that you disagree with what skypair says. God is not the author of confusion, is He? Of course not. We are wrong and skypair is right because only he has Holy Spirit.

You wouldn't question Paul's beliefs, would you? You wouldn't question Jesus' beliefs, would you? Of course not. Then you shouldn't question skypair's beliefs.

As a matter of fact, when skypair contradicts the things that Jesus and Paul say, as revealed in the words of scripture, you have to understand that he is doing so by the authority of Holy Spirit.

Even though it seems clear to us that skypair is contradicting the scriptures, it is only because we don't have Holy Spirit guiding our minds that way he does. That is why he isn't ashamed to say things like "if you disagree with me, you are blaspheming God, Holy Spirit", and other such things.

You see, a calvinist's "proof" concerning doctrine comes from the meaning of the words found in scripture.

Skypair's "proof" concerning doctrine comes from his claim that Holy Spirit is guiding his understanding, regardless of what scripture says.

    I hope that helps, Amy

    peace to you:praying:

Eschatology, Amy. Understanding of the mysteries. These are "gaps" in Reform theology. There are others less obvious but for people to say they get their theology from the Bible and yet have the same "gaps" as a particular sect in their knowledge seems telling to me.

    There's a huge gap between someone's ears.

Face it. Nobody has any idea what you're talking about. Especially you.

I've been through the desert on a horse with no name, it felt good to be out of the rain.

On the first part of the journey
I was looking at all the life
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There was sand and hills and rings
The first thing I met was a fly with a buzz
And the sky with no clouds
The heat was hot and the ground was dry
But the air was full of sound

After two days in the desert sun
My skin began to turn red
After three days in the desert fun
I was looking at a river bed
And the story it told of a river that flowed
Made me sad to think it was dead

Oh yeah, the OP. What was the question? Why can't calvinists see that skypair is the only person on the BB that has Holy Spirit to guide his bible study?

    peace to you:praying:
