This is a photo I took of a Bible I have had for 39 years. For some reason I have the habit of writing the date next to most of my notes. As I trace the dates (starting from 1984 to present) I can see my theology changing. I literally can see the moments in my life when I formed new opinions on important issues. The funny thing is that it is a Ryrie Study Bible. I would not buy a Ryrie Bible today because I am no longer a Dispensationalist but I still use the NASB as my daily reader. This Bible contains a lot of memories.

My main Bible is an Oxford widemargin KJV that an older minister gave in 96. I can see something similar in my notes.
I enjoy that old Bible, and I find myself always going back to it no matter how many new Bibles I buy. Last fall I coughed up almost $200 for leonardsbooks.com to rebind it. That was a great move that I’m glad I took.

My wife had the Bible in the OP rebound for me as a Birthday gift. I do not know who she used but they did an outstanding job.

I still can't get into writing in my bibles... I'm weird.
Well, there are reasons. As a kid I was taught to never write in books nor to add to the word of God. No one I observed wrote in their Bibles (except to fill in genealogy info in the front pages).

However, with study Bibles, and even with cross-referencing, I realized that the damage is already done. But note that you can mess up the other side of the leaf with bleed through.
