Jesus never had a church but he did make disciples. Jesus gave the command to make disciples. Personally I think the modern day pastor is often nothing more than an organizer. He is to be the chief example of how ministry is done and he is to be making discipes not just converts.

Jesus gave the command and vision for the church in Mt. 28:19,20. It's about Him not us.

The only organism Christ left was a local church and the command to reproduce them throughout the world. Starving orphan baby Christians (result of shotgun evangelism) is a reproach on His plan.

So as much as I get frustrated with my local assembly, I try to work through it and with it to further the work of Christ.

Sure wish I could just strike out on my own. Less hassle for certain sure.

Unsure what you mean by "church ministry' it's not a phrase that i find in scripture.

    Do you mean
what is the purpose of the local church?
    or
what progams should a local church run?
    or
how should the local church support the work of the members of that church
    or
how should the local church be involved in the local community?
    or
    ?????/

To me the scriptures show the local church gathering together as part of the bride of christ, for worship, preaching, teaching, encouragement, spiritual growth and support of each other. By the love we show for God and eachother we show that we are His deciples. This i see as the ministry of the local church

    Regards
    Bob
