:wavey: Ok folks...I haven't posted much in here lately due to time constraints and other things going on but I do get in here and read a bit and knowing that there are some good and godly folks in here that will try to look at things from a strictly biblical perspective, I'd like to see some comments on what as many of you as would care too think is the epitomy of "A Normal Biblical Christian Life or Walk With The Lord". Biblically speaking...what is NORMAL? How does a man(or woman) walk with God and what are the characteristics of a good, true, fruitful, and successful Christian life after one has been saved. I think you get the idea.....I'd just like to see what everybody really thinks about this. What of standards,do's and don'ts,soulwinning, etc. As much as possible please try to back-up your assertions with scripture to support them.
I guess the biggest reason for this thread is that most of the time I feel as if I'm a complete spiritual failure :BangHead: and fall so far short of being a fruitful child of God and pleasing in the Lord's sight. In my opinion there is nothing more important in this life than finding and doing the will of God and being pleasing in His sight.Your comments are welcome.God Bless You all and may God grant us a wonderful and fruitful new year.

I think that you can put everything that you are talking about under the umbrella of Micah 6:8.

".....What does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."

That's the normality for the believer.

There is no "normal" music program or Sunday School literature or modest dress code or sermon style or teaching style or mission's emphasis or Monday night visitation or VBS or.......well, you get the picture.

Just keep it all in the perspective of this verse.

Ask yourself, when you get dressed for the day, "Am I presenting myself as a person who is walking humbly with my God?"

In preaching preparations and teaching preparations, ask yourself, "Is my own walk with God humble enough for me to preach/teach to others today?"

In the midst of a church crisis or family crisis, ask yourself, "Do my actions in this situation demonstrate that I am acting justly?"

Whenever the opportunity for serving others comes up (and that's everyday), ask yourself, "Am I serving others in a manner that shows that I love mercy."

While I agree with Scarlett, I'd like to add something.

Don't just ask yourself, ask God. Make talking to your Father a thing of habit. Driving down the road? Makes for good prayer time. Working on the car? Good prayer time. Lunch at your desk? Guess what? you can eat and pray at the same time!

There is nothing like a good prayer life to draw you closer to the Lord.

And don't discount reading/studying the scripture. It's not always necessary to glean every meaning from every verse. Just read and let it flow over your heart. The Holy Spirit will draw from it what you need to hear. I can't explain how this works, but I know that it does.

You must realize though, that there is nothing that we do in and of ourselves that pleases God. Only what Christ does in our stead pleases God. You are taking to much upon yourself when you say " I feel as if I'm a complete spiritual failure". Christ was successful in our stead! We must rely on what He did and not on we pitiful little we do. We are to strive for perfection, but that isn't going to happen on this corrupt earth. And this is our hope and strength that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. If He loved so much when we didn't acknowledge His existance, how much more does He care for us now?

Perhaps you are so busy doing what you think you should be doing and are not busy enough "be(ing) still and know(ing) that I am God". That is when He can really mold us and make us like Him.

    My biggest issue is pride...
    And low self esteem...

Which has it's root in pride. I don't feel adequate sometimes.
Therefore I am timid sometimes when God asks me to do something.
