I find it interesting that the Big Bang is being revised by some scientists who now call it the Big Stretch, which is more in line with the Bible. Of course, stretching implies something was there to be stretched. God created via logos generation, speaking the universe into being, then His “hands” pulled it to expand it, a process that seems to be ongoing.
Natah means "to stretch out," "to extend," or "to bend". It is used to describe various actions, such as God stretching out the heavens, a person stretching out a hand, or a person bending or inclining their heart towards something.
12 times, Barry Setterfield, of Genesis Science Research, tells us, the Bible says God stretched out the heavens. If space was stretched, then there would have been a vacuum energy increase, 10 which is a key factor in this model. This vacuum energy would have started out at a low level and would have increased over time.
The increasing vacuum energy would have shifted light toward the blue end of the spectrum as time moved forward - and looking back to older stars which emitted their light long ago, we would expect to see red shifts.
- Isaiah 40:22: "He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in".
- Psalm 104:2: "The LORD wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent".
- Job 9:8: "He alone stretches out the heavens and treads on the waves of the sea". (Walking on the water was another way Jesus proved he was God.)

- The universe did not expand into anything; rather, space-time itself is expanding, carrying galaxies along with it.
- It's a "stretching": This is like points on a balloon's surface moving away from each other as the balloon inflates. All points in the universe appear to be moving away from all other points.
- No center: There is no "center" of the expansion, just as there is no center to the surface of an inflating balloon.
