Billy Graham’s Other Intentional Lie by Omission

Earlier this writer cited two classic Graham quotes whereby he dismisses the immoral, idolatrous, blasphemous, anti-Christian Sacrifice of the Mass as a light thing of no consequence, though, in truth, it denounces and repudiates the perfect, holy, once-for-all propitiatory sacrifice of Christ…..the very foundation of Christianity.

Graham’s crimes against Christianity are further evidenced in his intentional suppression and deletion of the factual Church history section of Halley’s Bible Handbook, gifts presented to attendees at several of his 1960s Crusades.

Halley stated in the introduction to his Church history section:

The Bible Contains the Story of Christ
The Church Exists to Tell the Story of Christ
Church History is a Continuation of Bible History

To Show Our Connection with the Bible Story, and believing that Church people ought to be familiar with at least the elementary Facts of Church History, we give here a Brief Outline of its main Features, Events and Persons.
It is impossible to understand the Present Condition of Christendom except in the Light of History. But, alas, Ignorance of Church History is more widespread even than Ignorance of the Bible. We believe it is the Duty of Ministers to Teach their people the Facts of Church History.”

However, Billy Graham thought otherwise.

Telling the whole truth has the tendency to ruffle feathers and cause dissension, as well as possibly motivating the newly informed Christian to utilize his critical thinking in areas of which he was once ignorant or misinformed.

Once one is educated in Church history it is difficult to remain an Ecumenist or Futurist.

It is also difficult to believe Roman Catholicism is another expression of Christianity, her Pope a holy and moral Christian man.

Its anti-Christian history soundly refutes that myth.

Let us review a few key passages from the 40 pages which Graham’s Crusade attendees never read. In his biographical sketch of Pope Innocent III, Halley informs us,

Never in history has any one man exerted more power. He ordered two Crusades…Forbade the reading of the Bible in the vernacular. Ordered the extermination of Heretics. Instituted the Inquisition. Ordered the massacre of the Albigenses. More blood was shed under his direction, and that of his immediate successors, than in any other period of Church history, except in the Papacy’s effort to crush the Reformation in the 16th and 17th centuries. (1943 edition, p. 686)

It is stated that in the thirty years between 1540 and 1570 no fewer than 900,000 Protestants were put to death in the Pope’s war for the extermination of the Waldenses. Think of priests and monks directing, with heartless cruelty and inhuman brutality, the work of Torturing and Burning alive innocent men and women, and doing it in the name of Christ, by direct order of the ‘Vicar of Christ.’ (ibid.)

The story of the Papacy has been written as a background to the Reformation, in the belief that we ought to be familiar with the Wherefore of the Protestant Movement and the Historical Foundations of our Protestant Faith. Some of the things told herein seem unbelievable. It seems inconceivable that men could take the Religion of Christ and develop it into an Unscrupulous Political Machine on which to ride to World Power. However, all statements made herein may be verified by reference to any of the completer Church Histories. (p. 693)

The Revelation is the history of the trials and tribulations of Christ’s true Christian Church foretold from John's day to the Second Coming of Christ.

It is also the revelation of the papal Antichrist and his false Christian Church headquartered in Rome.

Futurists such as Graham would rather eliminate factual Church history from the serious Christian’s knowledge base than expose him to truth which would force the Christian to confront obvious inconsistencies between revealed historical truth and the many fables taught by the innumerable false prophets of our day.

Appreciate the ministry of dr Graham, and his faithfulness to jesus and his wife, but he did have issues seeing that the Church of rome is NOT a real NT church, but Apostate one!

This dialogue indicates a serious error regarding what a New Testament Church might be. This is not an isolated error. Most of Universal Church-- Christendom is in the same boat.

Mr. Graham also shows a serious error in who the pope might be a type of. Nothing new--most of Christendom think they have Rome in their lineage--and they are right. The problem is: that is not the New Testament lineage.

Hyper-evangelicalism and ecumenism are not new notions--just more prevalent. The daughters of Rome are going back to their mother along with her grandchildren.

"Come out from among them and be ye separate saith the Lord; touch not the unclean thing."

We are getting set up for The Anti-Christ. "If it were possible, the elect would be deceived."

Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Catholics make up the Church of Rome. No people, No Church. He hates Catholics. He mocks them, slanders them, makes up lies about them, hates them. He believes the pope IS the anti-Christ.
