i have read where billy graham is not following biblical doctrine, and is in total apostasy regarding the truth. i read that his doctrine of unity with the rcc and other liberal doctrine is nothing short of heresy i heard that his altar calls are set up with many many plants that prompt people to go forward with people literally tugging on ones arm. i myself am not a fan of altar calls anyway, but i think that what has been reported about billy graham has me wondering if he follows more of satan then the Lord.

Unless you want to be accused of baseless slander and gossip (surely as much a sin as anything you accuse Graham of), you had better provide references for your information.

You would also do well to investigate those sources.

</font>[/QUOTE]a simple search would show that i have not made an empty slander of graham, i think he has one of the most humble demeanors i have ever saw, yet his error and well documented comments toward the rcc and even some suggestions that some can be heaven bound other then through Christ is serious error.

However he started, he has compromised his ministry. His apostacy is well documented.

I don't hate him, but I don't listen to him anymore, either.

Provide references or retract the staements. Otherwise you're gossipping by the biblical standard. And the Bible doesn't grant you leave to gossip just because you think its true info being passed.

To assert that it is well documented is meaningless. I assert the reverse. No errors of doctrine or apostasy have beeen documented. There. Prove me wrong.

So be biblical. Provide references. Or keep quiet. But don't attempt to portraya person as unbiblical using unbiblical means.

Yes that's what I thought you'd point to.

These are disputable matters. They are not evidence of apostasy. Same old mud.

When you have REAL apostasy to talk about let me know.

    How about these facts:

"The Lutheran Standard" - "A Lutheran looks at Billy Graham, Oct 10, 1961, p 12.

"...I do believe that something happens at the baptism of an infant, particularly if the parents are Christians and teach their children Christian truth from childhood. We cannot fully understand the mysteries of God, but I believe a miracle can happen in these children so that they are regeneratated, that is, made Christian, through infant baptism. If you want to call that baptismal regeneration, that's all right with me."

    Some additional facts:

McCalls Magazine, Jan 1978, PP 156-158

"'...I used to play God,' he acknowledged, 'but I can't do that any more. I used to believe that pagans in far off countries were lost--going to hell--if they did not have the gospel of Jesus Chrsit preached to them. I no longer believe that,' he said carefully. 'I believe that there are other ways of recognizing the existence of God--through nature, for instance--and plenty of other opportunities, therefore, of saying "yes" to God.'....'I've found that my beliefs are essentially the same as those of orthodox Roman Catholics, for instance.... We only differ on matters of later church tradition.'"

I often wonder how long a dead horse can be beaten until people grow sick of it.

Billy Graham is a man of integrity. He has been faithful to preach the gospel in every avenue where opportunity arose. His choices of affiliation can be called into question, but to attack his commitment to the gospel is a mistake. God has given him a unique platform and like most great preachers, he will be criticized and slandered. And like most whom God has used in a great way, he does not operate his ministry based upon the opinions of his critics.

    A final thought:

In an interview by editor Terry Mattingly he was asked to define who was an evangelical.

"Billy, Catholics, and Evangelicals--A Flashback, "Current Thoughts and Trends, Jan 1995, p 24.

"'I think a person who accepts the Apostles' Creed is an evangelical, or the Nicene Creed. I think there are evangelicals in the Roman Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Churches.' When asked if the pope is an evangelical, 'This one is,' said Graham. 'We've had some interesting discussions about that....' Evangelicalism has one set of doctrinal and cultural 'barnacles' that offend believers in Catholicism and Orthodoxy, he said. Meanwhile, these historic churches have doctrinal and cultural 'barnacles' that offend conservative Protestants. 'But inside that church tradition and framework and organization of the church is the kernel, which is the heart of the gospel,' said Graham.'"

I disagree. Evidence shows he has compromised the gospel. A man of integrity would preach Christ and him crucified, no matter how it affected his standing in the world.

I don't hate Dr. Graham. Not at all. But he has compromised, it is evident.

Some people ned to revisit the meaning of apostasy. But that would require people to take their blinders of.

Believe it or not, the fundy answer is NOT always the right one.

Hmm... I suppsoe saying that makes me apostate too.

But then I would be in very good company.

And Graham has always preached the gospel with integrity, regardless of what some might like to say without substantiation.

I repeat: God has given him a unique platform and like most great preachers, he will be criticized and slandered. And like most whom God has used in a great way, he does not operate his ministry based upon the opinions of his critics.

Latreia, that fundy crack has nothing to do with what is being discussed. Evidence has been posted, you don't have to read it, or agree with it, but insults only take away from any good point you might raise.

You could not have possibly read everything that was given you.

And nobody insulted you for your support, why do you feel it's necessary to beliitle those who think Dr. Graham has dropped the ball ?

    D'oh!!!!

Latreia, et al.. my Amenning D. Moore was not meant as an insult. But I can see how it would be taken as one, so I apologize for it.

And Circuit Rider's posts here, I really want to see those addressed. If you don't like what i posted, what about those ?
