I didn't know the meaning of 'biography' was leftist propaganda.

Have you actually read any of these?
Biographies are written about people you may disagree with politically, you know.

    Ben Franklin by Walter Isaacson

His Excellency a biography of George Washington by Joseph Ellis

both are excellent - the Franklin Bio is more of a page turner. It is interesting to go back and read about some of the founding fathers as an adult

==Jefferson of course is always an interesting study. An excellent religious biography of Jefferson is Edwin Gaustad's "Sworn on the Altar of God". It is historically accurate and theologically fair. Gaustad does not try to push Jefferson to the right or to the left. Rather he allows Jefferson's religious story to play out naturally. Another biography, that I have not had a chance to read, is "American Sphinx" by Joseph Ellis.

I also liked Edmund Morgan's "The Puritan Dilemma" which is the life of John Winthrop. Winthrop was a Puritan and an important player at the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Morgan has written several fine books on the Puritans ("The Puritan Family", "Visible Saints").

I just got a copy of "Just As I Am" the Billy Graham AutoBiography. I look forward to reading that when I get a chance.

"I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings" is still one that haunts me. I love almost all non fiction. Nothing is more compelling than a true story! I even wrote a book myself about our time homesteading in CO, complete with photos, to pass on to our kids one day.

    love,

This 2 volume set was some of the best reading I have ever done. Contrary to his morality, Hitler was a genius at manipulation.

I would recommend reading WILLIAM TYNDALE A BIOGRAPHY by David Daniell that was published by Yale University Press in 1994.

The autobiography of George Mueller is a personal favorite. Also, I enjoyed the autiobiography of Jung Chang, a woman who grew up during the communist revolution in China.
