Black babies die more with white doctors?

Here’s a link to the CNN article.
Given CNN’s reputation I have to question the motive for the headline without any further investigative research.

Black newborns 3 times more likely to die when looked after by White doctors [link]

An abstract of the original research article can be read here:
Physician–patient racial concordance and disparities in birthing mortality for newborns [link]
The abstract raises more questions than answers.
1. Are these statistics comparable to those out of the state of Florida? (which is where the data was collected).
2. Was the cause of death an indicator?
3. Is there a difference in educational background between the races? Often difficult cases are passed up to more experienced practitioners.
4. What is the background and political bend of the authors of the study?
5. How many black gynecologists were there in the state during the time period of the study?
6. Why did CNN capitalize “White” in the headline?

So many more questions.

p.s. here’s some additional information
