Blessed verse.

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?"

Johns Gospel 11:25-26 ESV

I have been thinking about this verse for a couple of weeks. I find it such a comfort.

Even though we all have to cross the Jordan so to speak, we have nothing to fear. We are in Good hands.

I guess I am getting older. But for those in the Autumn years or experiencing some malady, God is there, He neither slumber or sleeps and will resurrect us.

We all have to go that way but we have nothing to fear.

That is a blessed verse. The problem is not all Christians accept it and believe it. They think you can lose, give away or forfeit their salvation. We do have nothing to fear though because perfect love casts out fear!!!:thumbsup::jesus:

Indeed, that is a beautiful use of Scripture from 1 John.

Do you know the hymn The King of Love my Shepherd is.

It's just there is a line that say's, I nothing lack if I am His and He is mine forever.

You have blasted me with a Scripture that has been off my board for a while.

I have a personal reason for doing so. Thank you Dr Eis.

Here are the words to the tune btw.

The King of love my Shepherd is,
Whose goodness faileth never,
I nothing lack if I am His
And He is mine forever.

Where streams of living water flow
My ransomed soul He leadeth,
And where the verdant pastures grow,
With food celestial feedeth.

Perverse and foolish oft I strayed,
But yet in love He sought me,
And on His shoulder gently laid,
And home, rejoicing, brought me.

In death’s dark vale I fear no ill
With Thee, dear Lord, beside me;
Thy rod and staff my comfort still,
Thy cross before to guide me.

Thou spread’st a table in my sight;
Thy unction grace bestoweth;
And O what transport of delight
From Thy pure chalice floweth!

And so through all the length of days
Thy goodness faileth never;
Good Shepherd, may I sing Thy praise
Within Thy house forever.
