Blogging

Yes, I have experience with blogging. I don't know that there is much to a blog. It is online journaling.

 

I read some of them a lot. There are a couple like challies.com that also act as portals to other blogs in a very systematic way.

There are certainly some blogging superstars that can get 200 responses to a post on whatever, while other blogs just as thoughtful get none or 1.
However, this is partly due to the fact that many bloggers require a responder to be registered as a blogger on their individual system.
Hard to remember several more sets of passwords, so I just don't bother with trying to respond.

 

I really enjoy it. Although I have been running behind these last few days, I try to update my blog at least 3-4 times a week... some entries are light, funny, stuff, some are deeper things... basically what comes out of my mind when I am writing it!!!!! OK, not too deep if it comes from my mind!!!

I also know that Tatertot, and pastorSBC1303 have blogs... I have them on my blogroll... Check them out also.

I like reading blogs, and often thats how I keep up with things going in Baptist life and with personal friends. As for churches, I think it could be beneficial as well. Our church doesnt have a blog, but we do have a once-a-week e-newsletter that does essentially the same thing.

Right now about ten youth and youth workers in our church are using Yahoo360 blogs to share information. Their blogs are set for "friends" only to keep it somewhat private after hearing of difficulties encountered by young people on some other sites.

One of our seminary students did an internship with missionaries in Africa this summer and used his blog to keep the church informed of activities while he was gone. It gave those of us who supported him in prayer the opportunity to know specific needs.

Another young lady kept us informed through her blog while the youth group took a week long trip. We were able to quickly hear of their experiences along the way -- to rejoice when a student made a dedication to the ministry, days before their return.

Although their blogs have only been in place a couple of months, it has proven to be a good tool at this point.

well, theres the fun of a parent finally having access to their childs thoughts, peferrably in the 'silent teen' years, but now there is another medium of communication, wich for means another way i'm going to be abused, so I'd rather EMP the whole system
