You'd think with everything that's happened in her life, Shelbyville's Deborah Bailey would be writing country music. She's had to move many times, from Illinois to Texas, from Louisiana to Colorado, and finally here.

She lost her retirement fund when her employer -- Enron -- went belly-up. And if that wasn't enough, in 1987, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

If that's not fodder for "cryin' in your beer" music, what is?

But Deborah is not a "cryin' in your beer" kind of person. The bluegrass gospel music she writes reflects her attitude toward these setbacks in her life and her faith in God to get her through them. People are listening -- and liking what they hear. Deborah's song, "What Will I Wear," sung by Kim Hopper, has been nominated for a Dove Award.

I think the O/T complaint could have been done via PM, don't you ?

Anyhoo, I'm glad this lady is writing to glorify God. Even tho I don't mind a good honky-tonk tune now & then.
