The fact that it will be our same body that will be resurrected as a changed body is an extremely important point because it follows the pattern of Jesus' resurrection. He did not leave his body behind and get a totally new, different body. It was the same body, but it was changed into an incorruptible body. It still had mass and matter.
The bodily resurrection of Jesus is an essential of the faith and any denial of or alteration in that belief leads off to cultic doctrines.
