This is so sad.

‘ “With a heavy heart we share this update with everyone,” the post read. “Today Marilane’s vehicle was found in West Memphis, AR, in Crittenden County. A female was found deceased in the vehicle. Law enforcement says that foul play is not suspected.

“The family asks for your thoughts and prayers right now and in the upcoming days.”

Carter, 36 and a mother of three, went missing Aug. 1 when she left her home in Overland Park, Kan., headed for Birmingham, where reports said she planned to seek psychiatric care. But she disappeared near West Memphis — she was last sighted at a gas station in the small town just west of the Mississippi River, about 10 miles from Memphis. ‘

Dead body, likely Kansas woman last heard from in Memphis area, found inside storage container in Arkansas

"was traveling to Alabama where her parents live....she purchased gas in West Memphis [then her] phone went dead somewhere along the I-55 bridge while she was talking with her mother."

"Crittenden County Chief Todd Grooms said Carter’s vehicle appears to have driven into an empty storage container on private property. Carter’s purse and credit cards were found inside the vehicle."

"the property is usually gated. It remains unclear how the driver made it onto the property and into the container."

On the off chance the family somehow gets this message, don't blame yourselves. I've been where you are and it is impossible not to ask yourself "what could I have done different?" Ultimately, your actions were not what went wrong.

We spoke with my brother on his birthday and he cheerily told us that he was enjoying the tin of popcorn and watching a movie. Asked directly how things were going, he cheerily responded that everything was fine. Two days later he sat beneath the flowering tree he had planted and shot himself with the gun he had secretly purchased a year earlier for just that purpose.

So I know the pain and you DO have my prayers.
And this is on her, and it was not your fault.
You need to hear that and to accept that.

God bless you and keep you.

How very sad to hear of this, Arthur. It must have been painful for you and your family.
