It is looking like Boise st could face Oregon in the NCG. If they can win their last 3 and if Auburn loses to Bama...

Do you think this is possible, and do you think they could win if they did?

What if Auburn loses to Bama, then turns around and beats SC for the SEC title? Now you have a one-loss SEC Champ sitting there. And now the debate is on.

And what about TCU? They continue to impress, and Boise would have to leap over TCU to get to Oregon, assuming Oregon survives the Civil War with Costa's injury.

And dare I mention LSU? The hatter has the ARK game left to impress voters.

There would be some attractive one-loss teams out there that could get in the mix. Remember that LSU got in the dance with 2 losses not so long ago.

There is no way LSU makes it this year. They will not even win the SEC, they are already eliminated.

There is not going to be a 1 loss team get to the BCS title game this year over a undefeated Boise or TCU.

All of the big name programs that would normally get the votes over the non BCS teams are already below them.

I highly doubt any team outside the current undefeated 4 will make it.

Auburn is the most likely to lose. 1 because They have the toughest remaning schedule and 2 they are (I think-totally opinion) the worst of the four remaining.

TCU is the least likely to lose since they only play New Mexico and then their season is over.

Boise and Oregon should both win out but they will both face challenges.

The biggest debate would be if Auburn were to lose, should Boise or TCU get to number 2?

Nebraska made the BCS title game against Miami without even making it to their conference title game in the 01-02 season. Don't say it can't happen.

I wouldn't say that, nor can you argue either way definitively.
    .....for now.

Auburn is very talented and without question have the toughest road ahead. Boise and TCU have an easy road ahead. In my mind, TCU is better. And therein lies the rub. In "a bunch of" someone's minds, two teams are selected as being the best and they'll decide who the national champion is.

Full disclosure--Bama fan here, but if Bama can't win, I'd rather see Auburn do it than anyone else.

Agree with #1; strongly disagree with #2. Auburn has one glaring weakness: Their secondary is terrible. However, that is mitigated with a strong pass rush, decent linebacking, OK rush defense, and the fact they can outscore most basketball teams. Heck, they don't have to make many stops.

I'd rank Auburn over Oregon. They certainly looked more impressive this past week.

Been bouncing around on this one...I really don't know.

I don't see any way it could happen this year.
Boise St and TCU have gained too much respect from the voters. A 1 loss AQ team will not pass them up this year if they are undefeated. If they were going to they already would have.

Totally agree with this. They are too unbalanced towards the offense though.

TCU does for certain. They have one game left against a 1 win team that is in the BOTTOM 10 in the FBS. THey certainly have an easy road ahead.
Boise St however has Fresno st, which is already Bowl eligible, but should not be too tough but then they go to Nevada who is a ranked opponent who, for what it is worth scored 52 on the same Cal team that Oregon only scored 15 on. Also their senior QB has been gunning for BSU for this whole season.
Then they finish up with Utah St which SHOULD be easy but then they did take Oklahoma to the wire.

I think the quality of opponents left for these 4 teams is as follows (my rankings)

    1 Bama (plays Auburn)
    2 Nevada (plays Boise St)
    3 (tie) Arizona (plays Oregon)
    3 South Carolina (plays Auburn)
    5 (tie)Oregon St (Plays Oregon)
    5 Fresno St (plays Boise)
    6 Utah St (Plays Boise)
    7 New Mexico (PLays TCU)

    Absolutely.
I this this is the best year in a long time for the BCS in terms of rankings and if they were selecting the top 8 it would not be so bad...but how in the world can you tell which team is best when none of these 4 have lost?
And even if you could they should have the chance to prove it.

With the system we have, anything is possible. People said it couldn't happen when Neb did it and LSU got in with two losses.
Not necessarily. Once you get near Thanksgiving and beyond, the games matter all the more to the pollsters. Simple reason why: the voters have more time to watch games since you have marquee matchups with little to no other games at the same time. And I'm not just talking about the writers. Coaches watch more games now, too.
I used to think 8 teams was the must. Now, I think 4-6 teams is just fine.

If (((Boise St))) were to win the NC, it would be such a sham that it would finally cause the demise of this this ridiculous BCS foolishness that we have had to endure the last few years.

FINALLY...we would get the playoff that we should have already had by now.

I dunno. I think Boise St. would give the Cinderalla-worshippers such a field day, that the BCS would be acclaimed somehow and we'd end up with a 25 year extension with ESPN and I'd never see a playoff in my lifetime. If an undefeated Auburn team can't get to the dance or get the system tweaked where they had a shot (from the 2004-05 season), nothing much would work...well, okay...an undefeated Notre Dame might. But that's silly. Notre Dame wouldn't even HAVE to play the BCS title game if they went 12-0 :tongue3:

Just why would Boise winning the BCS title game (I try not to call it an NC because it isn't) be a ''sham''? If they are no good, then why would they win it?
And if they won the game against an undefeated team from a BCS conference they would be 27-0 so how would they not be legit?

You should watch them play some time. They are a great football team with a very good and classy coach.

I really think after watching every single BSU game this year (and most from last season which is basically the same players) that they are better than any of the other teams I have seen, including Oregon and Auburn.
