Matthew 19:28 (NASB)
And Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

First let us consider when this occurs.

After the audience has been "regenerated." And when will that occur? When Jesus has as ascended to God.

Thus the new birth first occurred after Christ died on the cross!

Subsequent to that, those in view, perhaps more than twelve individuals, will judge in some way the twelve tribes of Israel, i.e. all Israel.

Now, lets return to our word "regeneration." The Greek word here is (transliterated) "palingenesia" (G3824) and is a compound word (anew + source, such as birth)

Our word also appears in Titus 3:5 in the phrase, washing of "regeneration" (or washing of spiritual birth anew).

Certainly the idea is being made alive after being dead. Christ physically died on the cross when He commended His Spirit to God. See Matthew 27:50, Mark 15:37, Luke 23:46 and John 19:30. But He arose, and physically walked the earth, eating and speaking with many people. And He had the scars to prove He was not an imposter.

All of us are initially born spiritually dead, separated from God. But when God transfers us into Christ, we undergo the washing of regeneration or spiritual rebirth, and arise a new creation, created for good works. Thus we are "made alive" together or in union with Christ. Ephesians 2:5, Colossians 2:13

No.
1 Corinthians 15:17, And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
Yet another "taint so" post devoid of content. Today you will be with Me in paradise.

Let us consider this question. Is Christ sitting on a throne in Heaven right now? Yes, of course.
Has every born anew believer been transferred spiritually "into Christ?" Yes of course
Thus is every born anew believer "sitting" on a throne in Heaven?

I know this is really deep and hard to grasp, but give it a shot.

Does Matthew 19:28 say they will sit at some future time on the twelve thrones? Yes

Does the verse say when in the future? Nope

Who are those who will sit on the 12 thrones? Is Judas included? Matthias? Or could this refer to everyone who has been regenerated, born anew?

Might we all in some way help Christ rule in His Kingdom?

Matthias was chosen to replace Judas, was he not?

Think I will vote Matthias.

Is Christ sitting on a throne in Heaven right now? Yes is the correct answer, however, whose?

He who is overcoming -- I will [Future active 1 P sig] give to him to sit with me in my throne [Lit the throne of me τῷ θρόνῳ μου], as I also did overcome and did sit down with my Father in His throne [Lit the throne of him τῷ θρόνῳ αὐτοῦ]. Rev 3:21

I wonder the difference of, My and His? Help me out.

Is Jesus sitting on the throne of himself today?

Sorry Sir, but I have no idea what your point of discussion might be.

Did you address the question of who (only apostles or all those born anew) does this statement apply? Were you saying this statement does not apply to everyone who follows Christ in the regeneration?

Does the statement define a point in time or just indicate a future event. I did not see an answer.

When the Son of Man sits on the thrown of His glory, the thrown of the Son of Man is in view, probably when judging humanity.

This thread was supposed to discuss the concept of being spiritually born anew.

When does this occur? (When God transfers us spiritually into Christ.)

When are we made alive, regenerated? (When God transfers us spiritually into Christ.)

When are we made righteous? (When God transfers us spiritually into Christ and we undergo the washing of regeneration, being made alive together with Christ.)

When do we first "sit" on a thrown with Christ? (When God transfers us spiritually into Christ, who is "sitting" on the Father's thrown in heaven.)

When are we "indwelt" with the Holy Spirit? (After we are transferred spiritually into Christ and have undergone the washing of regeneration.)

I'm saying that if the twelve, whether Judas is one or not, are not sitting with Jesus presently, neither is anyone else. And I do not believe the twelve are sitting with Jesus on a throne today Dec 15, 2024.

I believe Jesus is sitting with the Father on the Father's throne today Dec 15,2024. Jesus will sit on the throne of his glory still future.

Rev 3:21 Is there a difference on His throne and My throne? What is the difference?

Sir, you can believe what you will. If you believe we are "in Him" and He is sitting on a throne that is not "His - God the Son's," yet those "in Him" are not also upon that same throne, have at it. :)

Christ means Anointed, correct? Jesus of Nazareth is the Anointed One, correct?

Who Anointed Jesus of Nazareth? Mary brought forth her firstborn and they called him Jesus. The Word was made flesh and named Jesus. Did the Son of God Anoint Jesus?

Important questions.

Did Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, the Son of the living God, die? Was, the Christ, the Anointed, DEAD? Does to be DEAD mean to be without LIFE?
Was the soul of him poured out unto DEATH?

How long was Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ DEAD? Being Jesus of Nazareth was DEAD was regeneration necessary in order for Jesus to have LIFE?

Was the resurrection of Jesus out of the DEAD absolutely necessary for LIFE?

so also the Christ did not glorify himself to become chief priest, but He who spake unto him: 'My Son thou art, I to-day have begotten thee;' Heb 5:5

Who glorified Christ to become chief priest? When and how did he glorify Christ to become chief priest?

And Jesus said to them, 'Verily I say to you, that ye who did follow me in the regeneration, from Matt 19:28

And now, Christ hath risen out of the dead -- the first-fruits of those sleeping he became, 1 Cor 15:20

Bear in mind to my knowledge Christ Jesus is the only of the firstfruits to have been raised to die no more.

for even as in Adam all die, so also in the Christ all shall be made alive, and each in his proper order, a first-fruit Christ, afterwards those who are the Christ's, in his presence,

Notice Christ has been raised yet those who are his will not be made alive until he comes again. Follow him in being made alive, regenerated.

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Col 3:1-4

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. [ In like manner]
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Why, Sir, are you posting off topic questions, seemingly at random?
1) The Anointing of Jesus with the Holy Spirit and Power is off topic.
2) Jesus was physically dead, and His physical body was regenerated, made alive after spending three days (ac-coring to inclusive counting)in the tomb, from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning.
3) His bodily resurrection provides the proof His promise of eternal life is true, thus a necessary element in His redemption plan.
4) God never said, today I have created you.
5) I could go on, but what is the use. None of your questions relate to the topic.

Ask questions concerning our spiritual regeneration or being born anew spiritually, being made alive in union with Christ.

Are those born anew, in some way, sitting on a throne in Heaven? Yes, because they are "in Christ" and Christ is sitting on God's throne.
Is the reference to "sitting on twelve thrones judging Israel, figurative - the reference to twelve is a reference to an all encompassing jurisdiction?

We are in heavenly places with Christ, yes, we will sit on the twelve thrones. Maybe this is about the apostles, anyways. The Bible is always right.

We are in the Heavenly places with Christ. Ephesians 1:20 and 2:6 If "twelve" is a figurative expression of completeness, then those born anew will sit on "all" judgment thrones. Our interpretations of the Bible are not always right.
