Kansas City Royals fan here, eminently excited we've got a team now, can't wait for next year.

Gotta go with the home state of Missouri here. In the NL, Cardinals take it in three from Pittsburgh, beat the Dodgers in seven.

In the AL, stick with the Central champs (who we won the season series from). Tigers beat Oakland in Oakland in game one, win ALDS in five, play the Red Sox and upset them in six.

    Cardinals beat Detroit in six.

    What say you?

As I said on another thread in this forum, "NEVER EVER tell a Royals or Red Sox fan you're a Yankees fan. We'll hunt you down and teepee your house!"

Twins fan here. Also follow the Rays. Am watching the Royals with interest and jealousy.

Red Sox vs Tigers in ALCS.
    Pirates vs Braves in NLCS.

Tigers vs. Braves in WS. Tigers take it. Tigers starting pitching is formidable and they have the offense.

I agree about the Tigers....I also hate Boston passionately...both Sox & Patriots.

I don't hate the Red Sox but I am sick of them. I don't like the Yankees but I respect them. As a matter of fact I'd rather watch a Cubs vs. Astros game before I'd watch a Yankees vs. Sox game.

    Braves or Really, the Cards.

I was just glad the KC Royals were moving up.

No hate of Boston is correct. They take the train down to NYC all dressed up in Red Sox caps shirts etc., but heaven forbid you come to fenway with a Yankees or a Rays cap on...your asking for a beating cause they have no sence of sportsmanship.

That's because they've got three former Missouri Tigers in their rotation and in their bullpen.

UPDATE: The A's are so far into the Tigers' heads, they decide what they order for take-out. (Can't take credit for that: It was on the Sports Illustrated website.)

Tigers are probably going to lose the series, blowing my prediction and putting Oakland against the Rays/Red Sox winner, which, after last night, is decidedly undecided. Tampa showed some fight, coming from three down to tie it in the fifth, took the lead in the eighth, endured a Sox rally that tied it in the ninth, and got a walk-off home run from an unlikely source, catcher Jose Lobotan to avoid a Red Sox sweep.

Cardinals have the rubber game with Pittsburgh Wednesday, surprising to me as I figured St. Louis would breeze through that series, given the Pirates' failure to generate offense the last ten days of the season. St. Louis will still win it, though, since the game is under the Arch.

As I figured, the Dodgers dealt with Atlanta in three, and will play St. Louis in the NLCS when the Redbirds dispatch the Bucs tomorrow.

Now shall we put this in prospective by taking a look of the salary variations between The Red Sox, The Yankees Etc & the Florida Teams?

Don't forget to throw the Royals in there, too. They made a huge leap forward this season, and if not for the June 12-game losing streak and the August nine-game losing streak -- had they played .610 through those streaks like they did the rest of the season -- they would have taken the AL Central, five games better than Detroit. They ranked 20th in the league at just under $80 million, and that's after shooting up from three years ago at barely $55 million.

Salary sure isn't everything. Toronto is at # 9, spending just over $117 million this year, and look where that got them.

Take a look at V-Mart's home run in today's game (Game 4). Looks like the Tigers are supposed to be in the WS.

Yeah, I may have given up on my prediction too soon. Of course, they gotta win in Oakland, but the A's looked pretty deflated after blowing a three-run lead.
