Many events, such as movies, ball games, and some theme parks do not allow you to bring in your own food and beverages. The problem is that they charge so much for the snacks.

I can understand about a restaurant not allowing you to bring in your own food, but what are your thoughts about non-food businesses prohibiting you from bringing in your own food? Should there be a law one way or the other?

Most places like that don't make much money off of admissions or ticket sales. Selling food is where they make a profit.

I don't know about making a law for it, but each place should have the right to restrict outside food and/or drinks if they so choose.

movie theatres don't make a lot off ticket sales(I've heard getting those movies is pretty expensive) so they have to sell food in order to remain open for business, food is where their income comes from, not necessarily tickets. I imagine it's pretty much the same for the other businesses you named.

I don't know, SALT---every now and then we'll ride into B'ham and watch the Barons play baseball----of course, we can only go on 25cent hotdog nite and we can't go on $1 beer nite

Blackbird thinks that donnA's right---because he knows pretty sure that the Barons make the majority of their payroll from ticket sales and then the cash cow comes on beer nite!!! But they don't make diddly on hotdog nite!!!:type::laugh:

Ah, yes, the good ol' Hoover Met.

Just so you'll know: Somewhere in between 1st and 2nd base, is buried a pet rabbit I had in college. They were building the Met when I was in school. The rabbit had to be put to sleep. On the way back to Samford from the vet, I had an idea...kind of spur of the moment I stopped there (they had just begun) and buried Steve the Rabbit.

Hey...I wonder it it was Steve's ghost that frightened Michael Jordan into not being able to hit curve balls!
