The cost they are trying to save is that of paying for his/her gender change surgery!

http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2015/...sed-on-parole/

This is what the liberal, left leaning government in California sees as a cost savings event. They paroled this person seeking a sex change operation. BTW - she/he was sentenced for murder, but they say he/she is no longer dangerous!

I may be wrong, and I sincerely hope I am; but this person wanted this surgery and wanted the state to pay for it, and because of the cost for the surgery being prohibative to the recently released parole, I see he/she committing another crime to return to prison in order to get the surgery. Let's just hope he/she doesn't murder again to get there!

So sad, what California is doing with the overcrowded prison system!

So what do you think of this?

Preventative costs...

They no longer pay for their prison time and the next person they kill, the gov't will not have to pay that person's SS for them. The gov't is in a 'win-win' situation.

Good point!

I think that they should have let the interns practice surgery on this guy and then transferred him to a women's prison.

(note: quote edited to conform to L.E.F.T.)

Now how many more murderers will claim they require a sex change operation?

How about we stop putting so many people in jail for minor drug offenses, such as possession, where no one was hurt? Sadly prisons have become a growth industry here in the States.

Yea, you are right Crabby - a murder is a minor offense.

Salty, I expect better from you. I said nonviolent, like drug possession. Why not community service for such folk? It costs a lot to keep a person in jail. Why not make them do something useful and not cost the tax payers so much?

Salty, I expect better from you. ?

The subject of the OP is a murderer!

You are bringing up and entirely different issue!
INTC* start a new thread.

And now back to the OP.
The Court was WRONG,WRONG, WRONG.
Will Calif take this to the Federal Courts?

Now, how many more State/Commonwealths courts will follow suit.

Expect inmates in many other jurisdictions to file similar suits.

Here is an idea, don't break the law in the first place and no one gets put in prison.

I have a contrary opinion on that. Make enough laws so everyone can be thrown into prison.
