The question is HOW important is the correct doctrine in order to get saved?
Does being saved or not being saved depend on how correct our doctrine is?
Do you think that the heart of a person does not also matter? Imagine there is a person which is raised catholic and believes the whole catholic stuff but the person doesn't really know it any better and basically the person is sincere and wants to know the truth. If such a person dies will she simply go to hell because she believed that Mary was sinless and that Mary also has a redemptive function?
In the beginning when I became a christian I also didn't understand all things and I thought if I die then I have all these bad deeds on the one side and no good deeds on the other side. At this point I didn't know it any better. If I had died in this state would I have gone to hell because I had misconceptions?
