The answers that you provide do not line up with the question. You asked "Can we translate the KJV perfectly into Spanish?" But the answers alow room for error. Error is not perfection.

Why would anyone want to, outside of die-hard KJVOs? To translate a translation would be to remove the meanings even further from that of its original authors.

Every translation loses something, be it Greek to English, English to Spanish, whatever to whatever. Nothing translates perfectly, as each language differs from the others.

So to take a four-hundred year translation of Greek to Elizabethan English and attempting to re-translate that into Spanish is a fool's errand from the get-go.

    In Christ,
    Trotter

Hi Trotter, you said it for me. I voted two without really reading and should have picked three. Oh well. They are both somewhat correct.

I would say that there is one exception to this situation.

You are stuck on an Island with little chance of rescue and you speak both languages and have a KJV as your only Bible. The Island has a bunch of people living on it who can only speak Spanish. Sooooo, while your waiting for rescue, you can translate at least the gospels and spend your time witnessing in Spanish. [IMG]

What in the WORLD would be the other reason would you WANT to??????   :D

We all agree that God inspired every single choice of words in the Greek/Hebrew. Can't think of a liberal on the BB that would fuss over that.

So from THAT we may get accurate translations.

Now, we disagree that God inspired every single choice of words in the Anglican Version (why Baptists revere it is still beyond me??).

So from THAT we infer that IF you believe the AV1611 (whichever revision you claim to be the perfect one - still wait, az) is God-breathed and every word perfect and inspired, then throw away the Greek and use the AV1611 (whichever) as your basis.

Of course, that is the heresy of double inspiration and by definition a believer in that is NOT an orthodox Christian.

Poses a real dilemma for those wanting to use a translation (AV1611 whichever) rather than the Word of God . . .

Someone could translate an English Bible into Spanish if so desired. But why would someone want to? The Spanish already have a Bible translated out of the Greek, Hebrew, and Arimaic source texts.

Just a perfect example of liberal mindedness who thinks they are conservative minded and really does not believe the Bible.

Translation is imposible until you first figure
out which of the three main KJVs is the already
    perfect KJV.

I see effective communication skills are still something you need to work on.

Yes. it can be done without error.

    Aka "yes."

Yes, it can be done with error.

Aka "no." (If it can be done with error, it can't be done "perfectly" as the question asked.)

Yes, but it would be wrong.

Wrong? No. A waste of time? Probably.

    No, translation is impossible.

    Of course it isn't impossible.

I can't answer this poll, as none of the answers actually reflect the truth. I answerd "No, translation is impossible" just so I could see the results.

I am stunned that there are seven votes in favour of translating from English.

The poll is flawed - it would be very possible to vote for more than one without conflict.

I am glad to see that the majority would seem to not favour this method.
