This question is only for non-calvinists. I would prefer that Calvinists refrain from voting (though please check the tally at your leisure!)

    Q. You are on a plane sitting next to an unbeliever (a common occurance). You are nervous about sharing your faith, and do not witness to him (though the circumstance comes up many times). You get off the plane and bid him farewell. He gets on his connecting flight, and you learn later that he died in a plane crash. Did you send him to hell?

I doubt any of them will give you an answer because they will be embarrassed by the fact that most, or even all, will not say that the lack of a witness sent the person to hell, but that sin sent the person to hell. But if they admit that publicly they won't be able to hold on to their false charge of Calvinists believing in double predestination. Heaven forbid if they have to admit it is sin that sends people to hell and not other people and not God! :D :D :D

Well the reason I ask this is because I used to think you could, and also I went to a Mens retreat at a Baptist camp this past weekend: Both the camp leader and the guest speaker (a man I'm sure most of you have heard of) said something to the effect that 'those people will go to hell if we aren't willing to reach them!' or 'if we don't witness we'll be the last generation.'

Another reason I ask this is because I know a youth pastor that is quitting the ministry. He became so frustrated because he felt as though he had sent more people to hell than to heaven.

ps- tcassidy, my asking this has nothing to do with double predestination. I may discuss my opinion later. For now, i'd like to know how the polls look [IMG]

ok so if you didn't send him to hell, then your will cannot change the outcome of someone's eternal destiny correct?

    What?

I just voted this morning, I am the first person that I voted, 'yes' that I am responsible send personm to hell. All of you says, 'no'.

Please read Ezekiel 33:6 "But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from amnong them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's HAND."

This passage speaks of watchhman's responible to blow the trumpet to warn people abou the coming attack. If the watchman fails to blow the trumpey, many people would be killed. God says, person's blood(death), then He would require watchman's hand.

This verse is perfect fit for soul winning. We are responsible to warning people about sins and hell.

Ezek. 33:8 "When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt die; ***IF thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; BUT his blood will I REQUIRE AT THINE HAND." God warns us, if we do not warn to person about sins and hell, then God will judge us for allow person go to hell without hear the warning.

Many of us failed to witness people, we allow thousands of souls to hell, we are murderers.

I hear some of them saying, "that is God's decision to chosen person where God wants person send to heaven, or hell, and that is not our job to warn person, I am 'hand-off', let God makes decision for person."

That is wrong. That why many of us failed to witness people about Jesus Christ, sins, and hell.

Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15 COMMANDED us go and to preach all people of the world to hear the gospel. God desires all people of the world to hear the gospel to become saved. Most people are on the way to hell, because of many of us failed to witness people, that why we allow thousands or millions on the way. We are murderers.

YES! I am responsible to send a person to hell, because I failed to obey God's command.

    In Christ
    Rev. 22:20 -Amen!

Amen, Brother DeafPosttrib -- Preach it! [IMG]

    Revelation 7:17 (KJV1611 Edition):
For the Lambe, which is in the middest of the throne, shall feede them, and shall leade them vnto liuing fountaines of waters: and God shal wipe away all teares from their eyes.

Wence were these tears in the eyes of the
saved? Probably because of the rememberance
of those not there, left behind to suffer the
Tribulation Period - perchance those to
whom there was no chance taken to witness
    to them.

Come down hard on the poll maker. ;)

    Polls can be made
so that one can read them before you post.
Pick "Set a start/stop time, viewing options, or voting options". Then don't mark
anything and voila! you have a poll
which can be read before posting.

    Also, for future reference, instead
of telling a group NOT to vote, have
a third option you can vote maybe something like:

    - It makes no difference to me, I'm Calvinistic

Anyway here is the current vote:

    ------------------------------------
Poll Results: Can you send a person to hell? (8 votes.)
Can you send a person to hell?

Yes. By not witnessing, I am responsible for him being in hell 25% (2)

    No.
I see the Watchman as the preacher in the church with his congragation. If the preacher don't get up and sound the trumpet in his city. (or that is to say... preach the gospel truth in his own congragation)... then we have a problem Houston.

BTW, how do we know that there was another Christian who picked up the cross and told the unsaved person? Or that at the last minuet the unsaved repented and called on Jesus?

    Hi Music4him
We have a responsibility to tell everyone about Christ. It's called the great comission. We are commanded by Christ to preach the gospel to the world. I hate to wake you up but we are all called to preach it.
    May Christ Shine His Light On Us All;

I'm amazed that so few voted Yes. The Bible clearly says that their blood is on our hands. Could have been the wording of the question, since we don't actually send people to hell ourselves.

No, I did not send him to hell. Maybe the person sitting on the other side of him was also a believer who didn't witness to him. Maybe someone did witness to him before I sat next to him, and he rejected the gospel. Maybe someone witnessed to him after I sat next to him, and he rejected the gospel. Maybe even if I witnessed to him, he would have rejected the gospel. Maybe no one witnessed to him, but he read the Bible for himself and rejected it earlier.

"your will cannot change the outcome of someone's eternal destiny correct?"

My will cannot change the outcome of someone else's eternal destiny, although I can influence. The final outcome is between them and God.

(question for everyone) If you cannot change the outcome of someone else's destiny, why do you feel that you are capable of changing your own destiny?
